The Opportunity

We are looking for a strategic and influential data leader to shape and drive our data governance agenda across the organisation. This is a unique opportunity to establish strong business-led ownership of data, ensuring that information is trusted, well-managed, and delivers value across both operational and analytical processes.

As a key member of the team, you will lead the development and implementation of governance frameworks, Master Data Management (MDM) practices, and data standards that support critical transformation programmes, including our SAP S/4HANA migration and the evolution of our reporting and analytics capabilities.

Working closely with business leaders, data owners, and technology teams, you will play a pivotal role in embedding governance into everyday decision-making, creating a culture where data is treated as a valuable business asset. Leading a small but impactful team, you will provide the direction and oversight needed to ensure data is governed consistently, risks are managed effectively, and governance decisions translate into sustainable, scalable business outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping the organisation unlock the full value of its data while supporting its broader digital transformation journey.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Drive enterprise-wide data governance, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Establish and embed a federated data ownership model across business domains.
  • Lead the Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, standards, and controls.
  • Support the SAP S/4HANA transformation by ensuring data is governed, cleansed, validated, and migration-ready.
  • Develop governance frameworks that enable trusted reporting, analytics, and data products.
  • Oversee data quality, controls, issue management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure governance decisions are documented and communicated to support transparency and auditability.
  • Partner with technology, security, and risk teams to maintain compliance with regulatory and information security requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks across transformation and business initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on data governance, providing guidance, assurance, and best practice across the organisation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience coaching teams and driving organisational change.
  • Proven experience leading data governance initiatives within large-scale transformation programmes, including ERP or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), data standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience establishing data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across business functions.
  • Hands-on experience with data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lineage tools such as Alation, Collibra, or similar.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across diverse teams, markets, and cultures.
  • A collaborative approach to working across business and technology teams to deliver practical, scalable solutions.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA data migration and improving data quality would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, risk, compliance, and data privacy requirements related to data governance would be beneficial.
