The RS PRO Business Development Manager is responsible for accelerating the growth, adoption, and market penetration of RS PRO within the Italian market. Acting as the in-country ambassador for the brand, the role drives revenue growth through strategic customer engagement, sales enablement, marketing activation, and cross-functional collaboration.

The role combines direct commercial impact with a scalable, insight-led approach, ensuring RS PRO is consistently understood, prioritised, and successfully positioned across customer interactions. Through continuous market analysis and stakeholder engagement, the Business Development Manager provides valuable insights to support the evolution of RS PRO’s proposition, product portfolio, pricing strategy, and go-to-market plans.

 

The RS PRO Business Development Manager will:

Drive Commercial Growth & Customer Engagement

  • Support key customer engagements and strategic sales opportunities, providing RS PRO expertise to accelerate deal conversion.
  • Identify and develop pipeline opportunities across priority customer segments and categories.
  • Guide complex negotiations, volume orders, and high-value opportunities to maximise revenue growth.
  • Partner with sales teams to embed RS PRO into account development plans and customer conversations.

Build Capability Across the Organisation

  • Deliver training sessions to sales teams and stakeholders on RS PRO products, tools, and value proposition.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new colleagues by providing structured RS PRO training.
  • Enable effective utilisation of sales tools and platforms, including PRO Push, Web2Print, and related capabilities.
  • Coach and support teams in applying customer insights and sales methodologies to improve performance.

Lead Marketing Activation & Brand Representation

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to execute product launches, campaigns, and local promotional activities.
  • Represent RS PRO at customer events, trade shows, and company initiatives, acting as the brand ambassador in the market.
  • Ensure consistent and compelling RS PRO brand positioning across all customer-facing activities.
  • Translate marketing opportunities into qualified sales pipeline opportunities.

Monitor Performance & Improve Conversion

  • Manage and improve key conversion drivers across core products, top sellers, and new product introductions.
  • Analyse business performance and provide actionable recommendations to market stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed frameworks around pricing, sampling, discounting, and promotional activity.
  • Identify barriers to conversion and define improvement actions to drive sustainable growth.

Generate Market Insight

  • Analyse customer behaviour, competitor activity, market trends, and sector developments.
  • Provide structured feedback to RS PRO teams to support product development, pricing, and proposition enhancements.
  • Share insights on growth opportunities and market challenges to optimise go-to-market strategies.
  • Act as the voice of the Italian market within the wider RS PRO organisation.

Collaborate Across Functions

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, product, quality, and RS PRO central teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Support the development and sharing of best practices across the RS PRO Business Development community.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation to deliver successful customer and business outcomes.

  • Strong sales and commercial experience within a B2B environment.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse customer and market data to identify growth opportunities.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable growth plans.
  • Experience supporting customers in a variety of settings, including sales visits, technical demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Strong consultative selling approach and ability to develop long-term customer partnerships.
  • Excellent listening, questioning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation and collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in own-brand development and go-to-market strategy execution.
  • Experience operating within a global, matrix-based organisation.
  • Industrial, technical, or MRO sales experience.
  • Strong analytical and data-management capabilities, including experience using Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.

Compensation & Benefits (Italy)

For candidates hired under an Italian employment contract, the compensation package includes:

  • Local Grade: Impiegato 1 livello CCNL Commercio, depending on the candidate's experience, skills and overall profile.
  • Pay Range: between €44.000 and €60.000.
  • Variable pay: Sales Bonus with a target opportunity of 20% of annual base salary, paid on a quarterly basis and linked to the achievement of business objectives.
  • Company car: company car for business and private use.
  • Private healthcare insurance: supplementary health insurance incl. family members.
  • Meal vouchers: €9 meal vouchers for each working day.
