Corporate Tax Manager

The Opportunity

The role will support with UK and Group tax matters including UK GAAP & IFRS tax accounting for UK & Group consolidated taxes, managing the completion of corporate returns globally through a network of external advisors, supporting the business on tax matters and regulatory tax projects and responding to tax enquiries.

 

What You Will Be Doing

 

Corporate Tax Reporting

  • Support the Senior Manager with UK and Group consolidated external and internal reporting processes including Year End and Half Year (under IFRS), month end, forecasting, and budget. This includes supporting with the implementation of a group wide tax reporting tool.
  • Monitor, review and provide support on group-wide tax provisions, including deferred tax and working with regional finance teams and shared service centre (SSC).
  • Assist with preparation of UK GAAP tax notes for UK statutory accounts and review tax notes for overseas statutory accounts.
  • Contribute to Group ETR and cash tax forecasting process, including monitoring of UK and overseas prior year adjustments.

 

Compliance

  • Liaise with outsourced providers to oversee the timely preparation and submission of UK tax returns (including overseeing R&D and other incentive claims) including preparation of CFC disclosures in the UK tax returns and monitor the status of overseas tax compliance.
  • Calculation of UK quarterly instalment payments and monitor global tax payments.
  • Support with any tax audits utilising local finance team and advisers.
  • Work with the finance teams to drive efficiencies in the tax compliance and reporting processes through automation, technology, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the obtaining of withholding tax certificates

 

Governance

  • Identification and implementation of improvements to the quality of tax information, processes and use of systems including supporting existing SAO processes.
  • Ensure key systems, responsibilities and processes related to tax are documented and fit for purpose, including those delivered within SSC environment.

 

Advisory and project support

  • Assist in providing tax advice to key internal stakeholders across the business, to ensure compliance with Tax legislation and drive efficiencies and tax savings.
  • Support team with regulatory changes and projects as and when required.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent.
  • Experience working in Corporate Tax, with a strong understanding of Corporate Tax compliance and reporting under IFRS and UK GAAP in an international environment, gained from practice and industry.
  • Career in UK & International Tax.
  • Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business and to various stakeholder groups, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
  • Able to build strong business relationships.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible working style with the ability to multitask.
  • Highly motivated team player, with willingness to be hands on.
