Credit Controller with German language

This is a fixed‑term, 18‑month maternity cover position.

LocationThis is a hybrid role, offering a combination of remote working and working two days per week from our Riga office, with working hours 9:00-18:00.

We are looking for a motivated Credit Controller to join our team and support our Accounts Receivable activities across the DACH region. In this role, you will play a key part in managing customer credit risk, driving cash collection performance and ensuring excellent service to our customers. Working closely with internal teams, you will help maintain accurate credit data, resolve payment issues and contribute to continuous improvements within our credit processes.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Working closely with the DACH Accounts Receivable team to help achieve cash collection, aged debt and DSO targets.
  • Assessing customer creditworthiness, making credit decisions, and communicating outcomes promptly to customers or internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring credit exposure, analysing payment behaviour and maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date credit limits for existing customers.
  • Processing credit‑blocked orders in line with credit policy, ensuring excellent customer service while driving timely payments.
  • Initiating credit holds and negotiating payment plans in collaboration with Sales and senior stakeholders.
  • Keeping internal and external credit data accurate and up to date.
  • Escalating payment issues to management or relevant teams when needed.
  • Identifying potential bad debts, reporting them appropriately and assisting with required documentation.
  • Managing the shared inbox and handling customer enquiries and phone calls in a timely, professional manner.

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Experience with SAP and credit control software (advantageous).
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to proactively identify credit or fraud risks and prevent potential bad‑debt losses.
  • A customer‑focused mindset and the ability to communicate and negotiate professionally at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Commitment to operating within agreed levels of authority and following established procedures.
  • A continuous‑improvement mindset, contributing ideas to enhance service and processes.
