Location: Fed Ex 5927 W. Imperial Hwy, Los Angeles, CA 90045 (site is inside LAX)

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

About the Role:

Safety, Compliance & Communication

  • - Follow all site safety and security procedures at all times; attend required safety trainings and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • - Ensure compliance with internal and external SOPs.
  • - Maintain close communication with supervisor regarding customer and staff issues.

 

Purchasing & Procurement

  • - Generate purchase orders in the RS Integrated Supply operating system or client CMMS.
  • - Expedite and follow up on purchase orders daily, communicating delays or issues to the supervisor and client.
  • - Obtain competitive quotes for items not pre-sourced or spot buys.
  • - Review PO acknowledgements, document price changes, and update procurement systems accordingly.
  • - Maintain and update the vendor database; set up new local vendors as needed.
  • - Follow preferred supplier programs and corporate sourcing guidelines.
  • - May be responsible for purchasing at off-site procurement-only locations.

 

Cost Savings, Sourcing & Strategic Initiatives

  • - Develop, implement, and execute cost savings programs to exceed contractual savings targets.
  • - Develop and manage strategic sourcing initiatives, reverse engineering, MWBE spend initiatives, and sustainability programs.
  • - Identify and present OEM commercialization/substitution opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency and quality.
  • - Manage the commercialization process, including approvals, validation, and change control.

 

Vendor & Client Relationship Management

  • - Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to standardize and consolidate purchases.
  • - Maintain strong communication and rapport with client employees at all levels.
  • - Work with Client Plant Management on capital improvement projects and process improvements.

 

Inventory, Receiving & Storeroom Operations

  • - Unpack, receive, verify, and enter purchased materials into inventory systems.
  • - Tag, repack, put away, and deliver materials as required.
  • - Issue materials to clients and coordinate picking for work orders.
  • - Locate, deliver, and transport materials outside the storeroom as needed, including via Kanban.
  • - Manage returns and prepare materials for vendor return or repair.
  • - Perform cycle counts, investigate root causes of discrepancies, and provide recommendations.
  • - Clean and organize the storeroom, maintaining minimum standards.
  • - Ensure inventory is properly maintained, including replacing barcodes and processing relocations.

 

Inventory Management & Optimization

  • - Review and update min/max levels regularly.
  • - Manage inventory according to contract deliverables, including inventory turns and replenishment.
  • - Identify repetitive spot buys and convert them into stock items when appropriate.

 

Reporting, Analysis & Process Improvement

  • - Analyze reports and data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • - Work with the Site Manager to streamline processes and implement quality improvements, documenting changes in the RS Integrated Supply operating system and site SOPs.
  • - Support corporate initiatives and assist with special project assignments.

 

Leadership, Support & Cross-Training

  • - Assist the Site Manager with supervising, coaching, and training employees.
  • - Work in tandem with the Site Manager, meeting throughout the day to coordinate tasks.
  • - Adhere to company policies and report any non-compliance by team members.
  • - Perform other duties as assigned.
