Role Purpose
The Project Director – Southeast Asia (SEA) is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and successful execution of high-impact projects across the region, including strategic business expansion, acquisition integration, and operational transformation.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, regional expertise, and proven experience in managing multi-country initiatives and M&A activities.
This role requires excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll be doing in this role
Strategic Project Leadership
- Lead and manage strategic projects across SEA, including business expansion, new market entry, and operational transformation.
- Define and manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation in alignment with corporate and regional strategies.
- Develop clear project charters, KPIs, and execution roadmaps with measurable outcomes.
Acquisition & Integration Management
- Partner with corporate development and regional leadership to support M&A activities including due diligence, risk assessment, and synergy analysis.
- Lead the end-to-end project management of post-merger integrations, ensuring smooth transition across functions.
- Establish and implement integration master plan, manage cultural alignment, and ensure business continuity during and after acquisitions.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications among executive sponsors, regional leaders, and key business functions.
- Collaborate closely with teams across Operations and Commercial to ensure cohesive execution.
- Manage customer, vendors, consultants, and government stakeholders where necessary.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure that the assigned project activities comply with internal policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and escalate critical issues to executive leadership as needed.
- Implement and maintain project governance structures, performance tracking tools, and reporting standards.
About you:
- Proven track record of success in sales, operations, and supply chain management with an industrial background
- Proven track record in leading a substantial P&L within a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record in achieving aggressive sales targets.
- Experience of Key/Strategic Account Management and proven track record in sales
- Strong leadership skills and coaching with experience in building, retaining and motivating a high-performance team
- Demonstrate the ability to influence, challenge, negotiate, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the internal and external organisation
- Understanding and experience of e-commerce solutions within a B2B environment
- Understanding of procurement strategies within a business environment and able to articulate value solutions to support customer needs
- A thorough understanding of the SEA business environment, broad industry knowledge, industry drivers and trends
- Comfort with ambiguity, and in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment.
- Ability to communicate complex processes, problems, and solutions in a simple, compelling an accurate manner. Think and lead strategically with a keen attention to detail.
