Role Purpose

The Business Development Director, APAC is responsible for driving business growth across a selected portfolio of global and regional accounts within the Asia-Pacific region.

This role will lead the development and execution of strategic account plans in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including Group Account teams, the APAC President, functional leaders, and local sales teams.

Success in this position requires the ability to quickly build strong relationships, influence cross-functional teams, and effectively represent the company’s strategic priorities across the region.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Management
    Partner with Group and regional stakeholders to build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with selected global and regional accounts across APAC, aligned to long-term strategic frameworks.
  • Business Development & Solution Selling
    Drive engagement by positioning and selling the full RS portfolio of products, services, and solutions within targeted accounts to establish and expand strategic partnerships.
  • Market Engagement & Value Proposition
    Collaborate with local sales teams across APAC to promote and differentiate RS’s value proposition in a highly competitive landscape, ensuring aligned and effective customer engagement.
  • Relationship & Opportunity Expansion
    Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities while deepening relationships within key accounts across the region.
  • RS PRO Strategy Execution
    Lead the regional go-to-market strategy for RS PRO, including driving product development initiatives and regional adoption across APAC.
  • Revenue Ownership & Performance Delivery
    Take ownership of delivering sustainable sales growth and achieving revenue targets across APAC.

 

About you

  • Ability and experience to work across states and territories within APAC to support the business opportunity in APAC
  • Demonstrated experience in senior-level corporate account management, with a strong and consistent track record of delivering sales performance.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding business targets.
  • Financial and business awareness with good analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and set own goals and priorities.
  • Influencing, internal networking, and cross-function collaboration skills in a matrix organisation
