Role Purpose

To use industry and customer insight to shape customer procurement strategy, position RS as an invaluable partner, and grow RS share of customer spend. The Sales Manager will lead the sales team to achieve area / territory sales revenue and margin targets (GM$) , build effective relationships with key customers, and drive significant incremental sales.

 

What you will be doing in this role

  • Achieve regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans.
  • Achieve agreed sales target and organization mission by executing country sales plan and strategy.
  • Leads, motivates, and develops operations and sales workforce. Fosters a customer-centric approach to sales and service.
  • Develop and manage a high-performance team by setting, communicating and monitoring aligned goals and objectives to ensure team and individual sales target achievement.
  • Maintain and expand the customer base in the region, building and maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Proactively visit key customers to explore business opportunities and perform upselling activities to achieve territory sales targets. 
  • Ensure customer data and segmentation for the geography is managed and maintained to enable accurate analysis of trends and KPMs, and to maximize Marketing campaign outcomes.
  • Prepare timely reports, analyse regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
  • Support on driving country profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare, plan, and assist with site roadshows and expos on and off customer sites.
  • Maintain and manage a collaborative working relationship with relevant stakeholders within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Comply with and implement all company policies and requirements, including but not limited to Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, EH&S, ESG, CI, etc.

What experience we expect from you:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years B2B sales experience, including over 5 years of managing sales team in the Electronic or MRO industry.
  • Proven track record in achieving Sales targets.
  • Ability to think broadly and in an agile way, identifying opportunities and coaching the team to secure business.
  • Self-motivated to develop own agenda aligned with RS strategy and work independently.
  • Proven track record in building, retaining and motivating a high-performance team, experience of managing a team remotely is an advantage.
  • Financial and business awareness with good analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and set own goals and priorities.
  • Capability in business planning and project management.
  • Work well under pressure while creating quality output.
  • High degree of learning agility and emotional intelligence.
  • Appetite to learn and grow within the role.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft packages.

 

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Significant local experience in a Sales Management role in a large MRO supplier industry preferred.
  • Experience from a complex distribution business or solutions provider.
  • Experience with MRO procurement strategy, eProcurement, sourcing solutions, or inventory solutions.
  • Knowledge of specific sector customers and/or competitors (e.g., Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial, Government, Aerospace, Defence, Transport, Utilities and FM).
