About the role:

There currently exists an exciting opportunity for an experienced B2B industrial salesperson to manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts in Victoria. You will engage in face-to-face interactions with buyers in order to understand and meet their needs, positioning RS as a preferred partner. An integral member of a small team reporting to the State Manager, you will be based in the field, maximising your time and effort supporting key customers across multiple industries.



  • Higher studies in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, and/or a commercial discipline, preferred but not essential.

  • Engage decision makers and buyers at Key Account & Corporate Customers through direct representation at the operational site level.

  • Take ownership of portfolio sales and margin performance versus targeted growth expectations.

  • Build and manage an opportunity pipeline that delivers sustainable short-, medium- and long-term growth in the value of RS as a supplier to chosen accounts.

  • Use provided tools to record planned and completed customer visits, as well as objectives and outcomes specific to each account and opportunity.

  • Work collaboratively with State Manager, Corporate Account Managers and internal teams to drive sales initiatives within select customers.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging customer-focused presentations on the benefits of RS as a preferred supply partner and solution provider.

  • Develop a sound knowledge of the Company, its practices, and systems.




  • 5+ years Field Sales experience is essential, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sectors.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed ambitious growth targets.

  • Must be highly organised, self-motivated and driven by results.

  • Key account management and broader commercial exposure and awareness.

  • Technical aptitude combined with a product/service solution provider mindset.
