Legal Director

Location: This role is offered on a hybrid basis, which involves a combination of working from our London (Kings Cross) office and also remotely. We will give consideration to four day working patterns.
We are seeking an experienced interim Legal Director, to join us on an 18-month fixed term contract. All members of the team contribute to handling the day-to-day contract requests and queries from the business. However, where a key project is running within the group, this role will be primarily focused on assisting with that project, including a current, large integration project. This will be a very varied role requiring the successful candidates to both drive forward actions within our remit and influencing and supporting the relevant stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing:
• Driving projects forward and bringing workstreams to a conclusion.
• Building relationships with and influencing business stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and adherence to the Group’s policies and structures.
• Working collaboratively with business colleagues on multinational, multifunctional projects
• Continuing to implement and champion the Group’s contracting policy within acquired businesses
• Providing pragmatic advice that balances appropriate risk with commercial desires.
• Providing day-to-day legal support across various areas, including commercial agreements, data protection, and general legal queries.
About You:
• Qualified solicitor, ideally in England and Wales, with post-qualification experience in commercial contracts and legal matters.
• Experience working on large, cross-functional projects is essential.
• Strong ability to build relationships with and influence a variety of stakeholders.
• Significant post-qualification experience across a range of commercial contracts and legal issues in an in-house environment. Experience working across borders and cultures would also be a key skill.
• Experience of a corporate reorganisation and/or some corporate law knowledge would be an advantage, as would experience of outsourcing (or similar larger-scale project)
• Enjoy working pro-actively to drive things forward, whilst keeping senior management up to date and informed.
• Enjoy making the complex simple, with an excellent legal judgement and business mindset.
