Security Analyst

Job Description

  • Assess current security posture across all Allied systems platforms against latest best practices for threat prevention
  • Implement effective corrective action plans (e.g., security policies, risk management, review of security controls, rules of behaviour, computer security and operations, contingency planning, documentation, training, incident response, and audit trails, etc.) that have been identified by Technology or our external QSA.
  • Develop and deploy a security awareness program that continuously improves Allied’s security practices.
  • Lead and drive activities and projects to achieve PCI and NIST compliance for Allied’s system environment.
  • Implement management, operational and technical security controls for information systems that provide robust security controls for all systems.
  • Define and implement proactive monitoring and reporting of critical events within Allied’s infrastructure and business systems.
  • React to disruptive events and make the necessary remediation recommendations for approval and corrective actions.
  • Regularly review and maintain security audit logs and reports of all hardware and software, whether under direct control (i.e., security tools) or not (i.e., workstations, servers, network.
  • Correlate actionable security events from various sources including Security Event Information Management system (SEIM) data and develops unique correlation techniques.
  • Analyze digital evidence and investigates computer security incidents to derive useful information in support of system/network vulnerability mitigation.
  • Use data collected from a variety of cyber-Defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs.) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats.
  • Perform real-time computer security Incident Handling (e.g., forensic collections, intrusion correlation/tracking, threat analysis, and direct system remediation) tasks to support deployable Incident Response Team (IRT).
  • Provide technical examination, analysis, and reporting of computer-based evidence to include collecting and analyzing intrusion artifacts (e.g., source code, malware, and Trojans) and use discovered data to enable mitigation potential computer security incidents within the enterprise.
  • Coordinate with and provide expert technical support to resolve computer security incidents working with other information security specialists to correlate threat assessment data, as needed.
  • Define and document security breach response procedures in accordance with established legal requirements

About the role

This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide systems and networks. Including supporting security initiatives through both predictive and reactive analysis and articulating emerging trends to leadership and staff, defining, and recommending mitigating actions to mitigate security risks. Lead projects and activities to ensure full compliancy to PCI (Payment Card Industry) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) security requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures while leading the development and deployment of company-wide security training. Compile and submit required security compliancy reports to all pertinent agencies and working closely with functional business teams to implement mitigating actions and controls. Work closely with the Network Security Administrator and other Technology and Ecommerce teams to ensure all system platforms are appropriately secured while driving continuous improvement across the entirety of Allied’s security practices, tools, and processes.


What we’re looking for


  • 10+ year experience in an IT related role, preferred systems administration
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Information Security role
  • 5+ years of experience in incident response or SOC
  • Certification CCNA and Security+
  • 5+ years of experience with SEIM
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner
  • Experience and proficiency in a various security-related toolsets and best practices
  • Strong understanding of IT networking, IPS, AV, DLP and leading security products


  • College degree or equivalent experience in an IT related function
  • Certification in CISSP
  • Certification in SANS Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
  • Certification in Certified Computer Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
  • Certification Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
