About the Role
Role Purpose
The Datacenter Infrastructure Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring stability, reliability, and performance of the organization’s core datacenter and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This role provides hands-on administration of servers, virtualization systems, storage, replication technologies, and backup environments.
Responsibilities
Datacenter Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain Windows Server, core Active Directory components, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and OS-level services.
- Administer and maintain Linux/Unix servers and OS-level services
- Perform server patching, remediation, and lifecycle management.
Virtualization & Compute Management
- Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi environments including VM provisioning and performance tuning.
- Support hyper-converged platforms and virtual hardware lifecycle operations.
Storage, Backup & Datacenter Replication
- Support SAN/NAS operations including provisioning and performance monitoring.
- Maintain datacenter replication systems ensuring RPO/RTO alignment.
- Aware and understanding of Zerto or that type of replication software.
- Monitor and optimize backup jobs and restore operations.
Operational Reliability & Issue Resolution
- Act as an escalation point for Tier I/II teams for advanced troubleshooting.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Documentation & Standards Adoption
- Produce documentation including SOPs, diagrams, and configuration standards.
- Implement infrastructure standards defined by senior architects.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with security teams to support patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaborate with application and database teams to ensure stability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in systems or datacenter administration roles.
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory services.
- Experience with enterprise storage, backup systems, and replication technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Microsoft, VMware, or storage vendor certifications.
- Familiarity with Linux administration.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud technologies (Azure preferred).
- Experience with hyper-converged platforms (UCS, Nutanix, VxRail).
- Experience supporting DR or replication solutions.
