Location: UK Remote  

At RS Group, we are actively searching for an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the SAP technical environment, including configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting. As an SAP Basis Administrator, you will play a crucial role in the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of our SAP systems as we embark on our significant transformation toward S/4HANA.

As a SAP Basis Administrator you will be collaborating closely with Digital, Data, and Technology teams, as well as business partners, you will contribute to delivering solutions on our global core SAP on HANA platform. Your focus will particularly center on system administration. As the designated domain expert, you will ensure that all aspects of architecture, design, and build meet high standards and align with SAP best practices.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Provide support for all tooling used for BASIS Administration and by our SAP Delivery teams ranging from Data Management/archiving, Transport release management, Monitoring/Alerting, etc.
• Actively participate in internal forums, e.g. Community of Practices (CoPs) to share knowledge, learn new practices and to further improve our delivery capability
• Responsible for supporting the project full development lifecycle from ideation/project initiation to development and production delivery. The scale and complexity of change will vary from large projects delivered over multiple years to small independent projects/changes.
  This includes:

• Providing high-level estimation during the early phases to help our business and technical teams to scope and shape project initiatives. E.g. Environment management, performance, system capacity, processes and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership for critical issues which arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring all vital facets are covered enabling key stakeholders to make informed decisions
• Provide input to testing strategy to ensure critical scenarios are tested, and a practical risk mitigation approach is delivered
• Work closely with our delivery partners (internal technology teams and 3rd parties) to deliver the overall solutions in scope
• Design, develop and carry out implementation, cutover and migrations activities when required.

Key skills required for this SAP Basis Administrator role:

• Solid experience with SAP Technology Landscape Management and Monitoring
• Basis experience with the following ECC, CRM, PO, especially SCM
• Strong with Hana DB administration skills
• Familiarity with SAP tooling & methodologies
• SAP Patching (ABAP and Java)
• Good Linux skills
• SAP System Refresh and System Copy
• Excellent interpersonal skills – efficient communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical scenarios to non-technical audience, analytical & numerate and strong influencing skills.
• Builds strong working relationships within the technology function and the business
• Solution Manager – SAP monitoring system that monitors all the other platforms – central monitoring system and hosts Active Control.
