Location: This is a virtual role, offering a combination of being able to work remotely and from our European offices – there may be some travel involved across our European business.
The Opportunity
This role is a strategically important role, in the first instance, to drive and lead our Data Transformation through our Process and Operational Excellence Programme and secondly to help the Global Data Team to transform into a more mature Data Centre of Excellence.
The team: The team is on a journey of transformation, re-platforming key data technologies as well as implementing new governance, service, and delivery capability. It’s expected that the Senior Director of Data Transformation will support the CDAO and will play a key role in this transformation.
What You Will Be Doing
Our Group Data Strategy is well underway, and we are delivering and driving significant change in the organisation, however RS Group itself is going through major transformation which is focusing on global harmonisation and a major system upgrade. The amount of transformation: organisational, technical, process changes are not to be underestimated, and this role has been introduced to help ensure we are well prepared and well equipped to go through these changes in the coming years.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead globally the Data Workstream of the P&OE programme
- Support the CDAO in managing our global data transformation
- Be a strong, pro-active Data Leader, bring energy and passion demonstrating our group values:

- Line manage data engineers and BI analysts primarily in Americas but if necessary globally
- Own and deliver the SAP S/4 HANA implementation for Data globally ensuring the transition is smooth
- Be the voice of Data across the main Transformation Programme engaging with both internal and external teams supporting the programme
- Key member of the Data LT jointly responsible for stakeholder management, communication, and organisation alignment
- Help embed data ownership across RS
- Assist in managing data risks and audit points
- Input into the Data Strategy, the BI Strategy, Data Governance and Data Application Strategy brining your experience and knowledge helping shape our future
- Support and feed into our Group Data Strategy and assist the team in execution
- Ensure we align to our Business Strategy in our deliverables and objectives
- Lead the cultural change in the data team and global data community
- Ensure close collaboration with Middle and Back Office and Integration teams throughout the transformation journey
- Be an active and strong voice in the overall O&OE Programme representing Group Data and IS&T
- Strive for continuous improvement in our people, processes and technologies
What You’ll Bring
Primarily bringing SAP S/4 HANA implementation experience and owning the Data Workstream for our Process and Operational Excellence Programme.
