Inventory Control Specialist  
Location: Corby (Hybrid)

 

The role and responsibilities:
 
•    Accountability for the performance of regional inventory for a specific Category (between 30 and 40k SKU’s), (40-80 key suppliers) and (£20-£50m of purchases)
•    Duties include working with the Senior IC to create and implement a regional inventory strategy and budget to support the category & regional growth targets. 
•    Ensuring key Inventory management metrics are met such as target service levels, stock turn and cash flow 
•    Accountable for managing Inventory performance through effective order book management, quality conformance issues and stock management activities.
•    Maximising inventory health, driving down slow moving and obsolete products through stock rotations and supplier contractual returns etc.
•    Be a key interface in the region with regards to stock and service by networking across colleagues in EMEA and APAC
•    Engage across regions to promote the category & global inventory strategy to peers, colleagues and suppliers
•    Effective product lifecycle management 
•    Focus on improving order availability and delivery to promise
•    Proactive management and communication of customer back orders, root cause and performance 
•    Delivering key reporting to the Inventory Control Manager on regional performance to KPI’s and targets
•    Leading and Coordinating the resources and workload of a team of Inventory planners to execute against the stock and service strategies c 4-5 Inventory planners
 
Experience we are looking for to be successful in this role:
 
•    Experience in international Inventory planning management, techniques and methodologies
•    Ability to implement plans to support the Product and Supply strategy through delegation and performance of a team
•    Experience of collaborative working with cross functional and international teams 
•    Ability to lead a team to deliver against a plan to deliver results
•    Ability to anticipate possible next steps; being pro-active and focussed
•    Ability to demonstrate customer-oriented thinking
•    Strong collaborative and influencing skills
•    Ability to create and deliver presentations, particularly to stakeholder groups under ‘Key Relationships’
•    Expert level in SAP and planning tools, i.e. JDA
•    Ability to operate within a global organisation and to demonstrate cultural awareness
•    Diversity and inclusiveness awareness
 
Knowledge

•    Understanding of the market and industry within which we operate (Electronics, Automation & Control, Tools Consumables)
•    Strong commercial skills; able to interpret and communicate financial impact
•    Good understanding of inventory management principles and practices including Demand planning
 
Skills

•    Detail the skills that are required in the role e.g. interpersonal skills, level of problem solving/analytical skills required.  
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    MS Excel proficient
•    Ability to interpret data and reports and provide clear analytics / recommendations 
•    Ability to challenge status quo and drive for high performance
