Early Careers

EARLY CAREERS & ENTRY LEVEL

We recruit school leavers, career changers and graduates straight into roles – either in an Apprenticeship where you can earn as you learn, or directly into a role where you can learn the skills on the job and then take your career in the direction you want to.

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Earn and Learn.

What’s an apprenticeship?

You don’t learn to drive from a classroom you learn to drive when you get behind the wheel. Apprenticeships put you in the driving seat and empower you to learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours that have been identified as essential for the role you are doing.

What you’ll need

Our apprenticeships have been identified as business critical, so you’ll be doing a real job. To be successful, you’ll need the following characteristics:

  • An aspiration to excel in the role you are being trained in
  • An adaptable approach to learning both off and on the job
  • Self-motivation and the ability to get on with the job
  • A desire to make a difference

What you don’t need

Too much experience or a degree in a specific area.

What you’ll get

A competitive salary relevant to the role, a fee-free qualification up to master’s degree level, and the usual great RS benefits.

How long

These are permanent positions starting straight away.

Locations

The specific location will be on the role description, but our main locations are Corby and London, with hybrid working in both.

What you’ll do

Apprenticeships are regularly available in most areas of our business, however, as these are driven by demand, the roles will vary. These have included – Software Engineering, Project Management, Team Leading, Maintenance Engineering, Marketing, Accounts, Sales, Supply Chain, and many more.

ENTRY LEVEL OPPORTUNITIES

Start the career you want, straight away!

Getting started

Whether you have a clear career path in mind, or you’d like a little direction, our entry level roles are a brilliant way of kick starting your career.

With these opportunities, you can get to know our business, build skills and get an understanding of where you might want to grow.

What you’ll need

Each individual role description will share the specific requirements for the role, but what’s in common across all entry level roles will be:

  • A passion for the work
  • A curious, collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Self-motivation and the ability to get on with the job
  • A love of learning – including about yourself!

What you don’t need

A degree.
