Logistics & Operations Specialist

About the role:

Responsible for daily checking, tracking and reviewing outsourced logistics operational policies, standards and procedures including the implementation of warehousing and transportation solutions, in accordance to business and customers’ needs. He/She is also responsible for managing and coordinating daily business resources, including manpower, internal assets and external vendors. Practical and systematic, responsible for monitoring and improving performance, governance and compliance accordance to RS and regulatory quality and safety standards. 




Perform 3PLs Warehousing, Transportation & Freight Forwarding Tasks:

  • Manage day to day performance of logistics partners, i.e. warehouse, transport and freight forwarding to ensure compliance and alignment with customer requirements and contractual obligations

  • Check and verify that the third party's operating expenses meet the agreed rates and requirements, make sure operational cost effectiveness to meet allocated budget, including packaging materials

  • Discover, explore and propose solutions to optimize the warehousing, freight and operation capabilities of the third party

  • Maintain relationships with warehouse operators, carriers, freight-forwarders and port authorities to provide competitive logistics solutions to customers.

  • Improve logistics performance, contribute continuous improvements (CI) initiatives to drive performance excellence

  • Contribute outsourced logistics quality management systems and measures using quality management knowledge to enhance quality standards.

  • Monitor, check and verify stock-taking activites, i.e. cycle-counting and/or wall-to-wall counting. Stock adjustment.

  • Manage customer complaints, coordinate daily internal and external inquiries, and provide timely response.


Perform Business Continuous Improvement Activites:

  • Be able to participate continuous improvement activities and performance improvement strategies

  • Raise constructive suggestions on business process solutions to innovate current business processes

  • Analyse business process improvements through workflow analysis methods and data insights to support system development throughout project lifecycle

  • Assist and conduct risks assessment associated with different approaches of process changes

  • Adhere to corporate social responsibility policies for logistics operations

  • Organise sustainability activites by using processes that are non-polluting, energy and resource-saving, economically-efficient and safe for works, communities and consumers


Perform Environment, Health and Safety Tasks:

  • Manage Warehouse Environment, Health & Safety activities to ensure team’s compliance to requirements

  • Assist in generating LTA investigation reports

  • Drive generating Near Miss reports.

  • Facilitate E,H&S solutioning discussions around suggestions to improve existing processes

  • Perform health and safety risk assessment, hazards identification and implement preventive/corrective measures to mitigate risks at ALARP level (As-Low-As-Reasonable-Pracicable)

  • Responsible to manage and execute warehouse Business Contingency Plan (BCP) and allocate resources to manage order fulfillment during crisis


Perform Technology Application Tasks

  • Review areas in logistics operations where technology can enhance processes

  • Integrate technology solutions and automations to replace inefficient processes

  • Leverage on data analytics to build insights on technology usage

  • Facilitate the use of technology or electronic tools and devices

  • Conduct learning activites on technology or electronic tools and devices



  • Graduated in logistics, import and export trade or supply chain management preferred.

  • At least 5 years pratictioner working experience in warehouse operations and logistics environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good financial and analytical skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to review processes for the purpose of developing and implementing plans for process changes in the support of continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong people management and coaching skills, leading team with positive attitude, self-confidence and courage.

  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge, experience and awareness

  • Good spoken and written English

  • IT savvy, i.e. Microspft Office, SAP and etc.

  • Shows positive evidence of all of the behaviours to be ‘first choice’



  • Worked in an International organisation and thereby able to demonstrate good cultural awareness and appreciation

  • Mature experience of working with local & international logistics service providers

  • Experience of working within time critical high volume Distribution Centres

  • Knowledge of external market place (customers, competitors & suppliers)
