About the role 

The purpose of this job is to provide in-depth technical advice on specific ranges of products, for both internal and external customers and RS internal departments. By using your knowledge and technical expertise continue to enhance the reputation of RS Components in the market place as a centre of technical excellence. In addition, build and develop customer relationships in order to capitalize on commercial opportunities.

Working in a multi-channel support environment: phone, email, live chat. The role of Customer Technical Support is pivotal in provides credible specialist technical knowledge.

We are looking for a technical expert with advanced troubleshooting skills and a can-do attitude who feels confident engaging with customers on a professional level as a member of the Customer Service team.

 

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role: 

  • Provide appropriate levels of technical expertise to assist in the resolution of technical enquiries, which originate from the clients

  • Actively use-questioning skills both to ensure accurate information is captured from the caller, and confirm a clear understanding of the query is achieved

  • Rapidly assimilate complex information and ask appropriate questions in order to identify the problem and provide a satisfactory solution

  • Proactively identify omissions and errors in product support literature, catalogue copy, data sheets, and instruction sheets and ensure the appropriate information is forwarded to the improvement of overall customer experience and the reduction of failure demand

  • Ensure the proposed corrections are adequately marked to enable the safe and correct use of the product, to minimise costs and to protect RS technical credibility

  • Active involvement within Continuous improvement environment, sharing and working on ideas and suggestions with team

 

What you will bring: 

  • You may be a qualified automation engineer, mechanical engineer, electronics technician, electrician, installer journeyman or similar. You have a good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics electronics.

  • Engineer / technical education

  • Strong knowledge of English and Czech language

  • Strong analytical capabilities – logical, structured thinking is essential 

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to complex information, data and process/systems activities and analysis to guide and inform action 

  • Commercial sharpness and result oriented  

  • Cross-functional team-working and influencing
