Technical Manager - Cloud

We’re looking for a Technical Cloud Manager to join us who will support us in operational management of 3rd party technology vendors, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure end to end cloud, branch and on-prem infrastructure services are delivered to our customers to meet the agreed service levels and standards required. The scope of the role is Global, in support of Global IT Infrastructure and Cloud Services.

 

You will also:

 

  • Manage 3rd party Vendors and internal support teams to meet contracted support levels and proactively engage with both 3rd party service providers and internal support teams to maintain a strong relationship
  • Responsible for BAU operational performance in the Infrastructure Operations Team
  • Management of the Branch Office and Cloud Infrastructure and services.
  • Management of all RS Group & IESA infrastructure assets (server, storage, environmental, virtual cloud).
  • Management of distributed services contracts including warranty and hardware maintenance.
  • Liaise with the engineering focussed RS Cloud Competency Centre, internal customers, IT support teams and external service providers to ensure all cloud infrastructure change activity is reviewed/approved.
  • Working with Infrastructure and Cloud operations manager for auditing cloud test, development and production infrastructure capacity and financial accounting reports.
  • Input and review infrastructure project lifecycle activities for acceptance into BAU production.
  • Attend Weekly Technical and Production Change Boards.
  • In line with RS security team and industry standard practises. Review vulnerability reports and make recommendations around environment updates. Responsible for all patch management change activity coordination and execution for cloud and branch sites services.
  • Manage issues impacting service delivery and define and implement effective solutions via the service improvement process.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • 3+ years of demonstratable experience with vendor management and technical knowledge of Cloud, branch and On-prem infrastructure platforms delivering end to end services to our customers, and how they integrate.
  • Hands on AWS and Azure management experience and knowledge – should know when speaking with vendors
  • Demonstratable technical experience in management of the following platforms: AWS - Certified to AWS Cloud Practitioner as a minimum
  • AZURE - Certified to Azure Fundamentals as a minimum, or Azure Administrator preferred. Virtualisation (VMware Vsphere/ESX, Microsoft HyperV). – local branches all run of this and they’ll be looking after this – they need to have knowledge of this
  • Experience of working in a global business

 

Desirable:

  • Cloud services tooling and applications. e.g. CloudHealth or similar
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server and RHEL operating systems.
  • Experience in defining Service Level and Operational Level Agreements and delivering effective measures and reporting mechanisms
