This role is offered on a hybrid basis, which involves a combination of working from one of our offices and also remotely.

 

Here at RS, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our world-class international Finance Team.

 

So, what does this opportunity involve?

This is not a role where you would just be ‘crunching the numbers’. As a member of our high-performing and dedicated Rest of EMEA Finance Team you would work to support and challenge internal stakeholders to increase the success of the group. Further you would provide excellent decision support, insightful financial analyses, reports, and cost-efficient processes.

 

Responsible for tracking the commercial performance of the market by providing and interpreting financial and market data and preparing insightful financial reports and analyses. But beyond this you will sit at the heart of our organisation, supporting commercial decision-making by identifying developments and potential risks and problems, and working with your stakeholders by proposing new measures, supporting a robust controls environment.

 

What else you would be responsible for

The remit of responsibilities for this position are varied and cover several areas, including:

 

Functional leadership

As a key member of the team, you will work with other finance leaders to develop and use common approaches sharing best practise, developing, and championing a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Decision Making

As the Finance BP for Iberia, you will be the focal point for performance management (covering areas such as sales, marketing, P&SM, gross margin management, customer commercial terms and operating costs).

Utilising data from the Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC),you will lead the identification of trends and performance opportunities that can be exploited across customer types and sales channels.

Provide accurate and realistic commentary on performance against agreed criteria, including comprehensive analysis of all risks, understanding root cause for key variances and recommendations to improve performance.

And of course - ensure that the finance team is viewed as best in class by driving an increase in knowledge both internally and externally, promoting evidence-based management across the organisation.

 

Reporting

Work alongside the BICC, and the wider team to develop reports as required, as well as produce ad-hoc reports to enable the communication of financial performance with recommended actions.

Ensure management information is presented in a business centric and relevant way tailored to support strong business performance.

Coordinate and support with the monthly commentary on performance against agreed criteria, including comprehensive analysis of all risks.

 

Forecasting & Budgeting

Reporting in the Onestream tool Budget and forecast.

Understand the functional objectives, business targets and KPIs.

Cover the Income Statement, Statement of Financial Position and Cash Flow Forecast.

Proactive in proposing action to ensure that performance targets are met and exceeded.

 

What skills/capabilities and experience would you need to do well in this role?

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent).
  • Finance experience in a dynamic, professional business, ideally with a multi-site, B2B services background.
  • Able to build effective working relationships at both junior and senior levels in a constructive and supportive manner.
  • Developed successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders within a matrix structure.
  • Experience of effective communication of key financial information.
  • Analytical capability with a high level of commercial awareness, ability to identify an issue/opportunity and bring it to life.
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively under own initiative.
  • Personable, enthusiastic and team oriented.
  • Planning & Reporting skills.

Though not “must have” it would also be great if you also had any of the following:

  • Background in an international organisation, able to demonstrate cultural awareness and appreciation.
  • Experience with OneStream, Power BI, SAP and/or Business Objects.
  • Exposure to a digitally enabled business.
