Location: This role is offered on permanent basis. It is a hybrid role, offering a combination of being able to work remotely and from our London, Corby or Manchester office.

 
We are seeking a Head of Strategic Portfolio Delivery to join RS Group plc. This is a unique opportunity to drive alignment between strategy and execution across the organisation, ensuring investments are prioritised effectively and portfolio management processes are standardised and embedded.

You will lead the Group Prioritisation process, ensuring strategic initiatives are deliverable and affordable. You will also be the custodian of standardised programme and project management practices, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across the portfolio. Reporting to a member of the Finance Leadership Team, this is a senior leadership role with wide-reaching impact across all functions and regions.

 

What you will be doing:


•    Lead the Group-wide prioritisation process, aligning investments with strategy, capacity, and affordability.
•    Own the Integrated Delivery Plan, highlighting key risks, dependencies, and ensuring realistic delivery timelines.
•    Design and govern finance submission processes for organic investment and prioritisation reviews.
•    Maintain and audit adherence to standardised portfolio and project management processes.
•    Monitor and report portfolio performance to senior leadership, including milestones, health, and budget.
•    Lead the Portfolio Review Forum and provide strategic leadership across programmes and functions.

 

About you:


•    Proven experience leading complex change or transformation portfolios in large, matrixed environments.
•    Strong understanding of strategic programme management and cross-functional delivery.
•    Skilled in governance, prioritisation, and benefits realisation with a results-oriented mindset.
•    Excellent communicator and influencer, comfortable engaging at all levels of the organisation.
•    Analytical and able to drive clarity and alignment in fast-paced, complex settings.
•    Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, ideally across a matrix structure.
•    Happy to roll your sleeves up and actively participate in delivery of outputs.
