About the role

The organisation effectiveness team exists within the broader People & Culture function to maximise the performance of the RS business, by pulling the levers of high performance at an individual, team and organisational level.

We are accountable for setting and governing global frameworks, policies, processes, and platforms that support our businesses, in the areas of diversity equity and inclusion; capability development and culture; leadership and talent, including early careers; organisation design, and strategic workforce planning.

As a centre of expertise, we are recognised as global experts in our field, who work collaboratively and effectively with our partners in other areas of HR and the wider business, whilst staying fully focused on global priorities

This role is a 12-month contract, for someone to come in to start to shape and build this strategic capability, including:

  • Provide expertise and thought leadership on organisational design, strategic workforce planning and job architecture, to shape and evolve the approach for RS Group as it scales up through organic and inorganic growth in line with our journey to greatness
  • Create a tangible approach to Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) for RS that starts small but can be scaled (including defining the future state, understanding the current workforce, identifying gaps, and creating action plans to close those) to de-risk delivery of our journey to greatness strategy
  • Support senior executives with top level operating model and structure changes that cut across organisational boundaries
  • Develop the capability of HRBPs and business leaders to effectively conduct organisation design and strategic workforce planning.

 

What we’re looking for

World-class expertise in subject matter

  • Experience in shaping a new SWFM approach and in gaining organisational support for that
  • Proficient in gathering and assessing qualitative and quantitative data, and drawing clear and reasoned conclusions in order to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Deep skill set and evidence of impactful and successful delivery across organisation design, strategic workforce planning and job architecture
  • Has led SWFM and Organisation Design for a global business/ a function or region within a global business.

 

Strong change management & stakeholder management skills

  • High level of EQ and cultural competence able to manage stakeholders according to their unique characteristics and needs
  • High levels of change agility adept in the handling of any potential conflicts/resistance around change

 

Strategic thinking, balanced with ability to define and execute an agile plan

  • Experienced in identifying and understanding an organisation's strategy and goals, and translating that into talent and capability needs
  • Ability to take 3-5 year strategic view and translate that into tangible in-year actions
