About the Role

Role Purpose

Under the leadership of the Sr. Trade Compliance Manager, the Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing the daily process of enforcing trade compliance activities in a consistent effort to comply with all government export and import laws and regulations as well as internal operating procedures and policies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review and clear Foreign Trade Zone errors and warnings, and other FTZ related holds placed on materials and transactions with eventual responsibilities of administration of the FTZ.
  • Review Customs and PGA regulations to determine best applicability to transaction/product to provide proper release of order/line.
  • Review Anti-Dumping and Countervailing cases to ensure compliance with the International Trade Administration regulations.
  • Sales and Delivery Order Review (Denied Party lists, Red Flags, Embargo/Sensitive country review, Dual-Use items, ITAR controlled items, ultimate destinations and end-uses, missing export data, etc).
  • DDTC and BIS export license applications preparation.
  • Proactively pursue missing import and export data on front-end of process.
  • Must communicate with internal and external customers to address and resolve Red Flags.
  • Must become RS expert in trade compliance laws & regulations and stay up-to-date on changes via continued training.
  • Must become knowledgeable of the Export Operations Process (AES Filings, commercial invoices Shipper’s Letter of Instructions).
  • Utilizing RS Ticket system for order cancellations and customer requests (CoO/FTA certs, Classification documents, other information).
  • Working with customs broker to resolve issues on import shipments.
  • Assist Credit Department with SIFT order review blocks, and new account screening approvals.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • SAP Experience is preferred
  • Computer Skills with use of Microsoft Office Programs – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills required for collaborating with suppliers, as well as various internal and external customers.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Foreign Trade Zone and Trade Compliance experience is preferred but not required
