Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure & Technology Services - Americas
Job Description
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.
- Actively review and manage capital and expense portfolio for proper allocation, forecast and cost coding.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT Infrastructure & Technology Services spending and initiatives.
- Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the Technology infrastructure and IT systems.
- Experience leading acquisitions in all aspects of due diligence, estimating, and execution.
- Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Develop bid requirements for all hardware and software upgrades, reviews submitted bids for compliance with stated requirements, and makes the appropriate award.
- Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on department needs.
- Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts. This includes organizational readiness for merger, acquisition, or divestiture activities
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities and overall strategy.

About the role
Americas Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure & Technology Services is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of internal and cloud managed IT infrastructure to support RS Americas business and services. The role will assist in the definition and implementation of IT growth and maturity strategies required to create an efficient Enterprise IT operating model. It also includes the supervision and development of a high performing team to execute the strategic plans of the organization. It provides operational and strategic direction to multiple functional areas including compute, database management, data centre operations, and application and data warehouse support. Implementing and managing ITIL processes including incident management, change management, and asset management is also required. In this role, you'll execute talent strategy to maintain a well-trained, high performing, and motivated team, build and maintain business and cross functional relationships to proactively meet customer needs / address issues, as well as create, maintain, and improve our own processes to ensure enterprise alignment. You'll define strategy, project scopes and objectives include relevant IT stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility, provide resource estimates for the project pipeline, create visibility to team resource availability, and coordinate between IT functional areas, customers, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and risks.
Additionally, you'll maintain deliverables within defined variances for cost, schedule, and quality, as well as remain aware of and proactive to industry trends relating to your area of responsibility. You will lead acquisition related activities for infrastructure and technology services, including due diligence, standards, and execution. You’ll review and set guidance for infrastructure OPEX and CAPEX investment strategy for resources, projects, including asset lifecycle to ensure we are operating within organizational parameters and directives. This includes actively working with and identifying opportunities with business partners and other IT leaders to fulfil requirements by providing high quality and sustainable services to the enterprise.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with managing large complex networks, and operations in large enterprises. Including strategy development for modernized technology services
- Implementing Cybersecurity strategies is required
- Recent successful experience with rapid growth, high reliance on process, metrics and professional discipline required.
- Works independently as well as collaboratively with minimal professional and managerial supervision.
- Understanding of data centre operations.
- Enterprise level governance, data management, infrastructure architecture, engineering and maintenance
- Enterprise level infrastructure management and operational governance
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ITIL Reference Model
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
- Demonstrated success recruiting, building, developing, coaching, and retaining a highly motivated, high-performing workforce
- Demonstrated success implementing successful long-term plans while adapting to immediate changing customer demands
