About the role

Physically pack customer orders, validate quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items being packed ready for shipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
  • Follows DOT and OSHA requirements on proper labeling of Hazardous materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Affixes shipping/carrier labels on packages.
  • Compares items pulled with customer’s order and other identifying data.
  • Reads shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transport needed.
  • Pack outbound orders according to set specifications.
  • Affix International paperwork required by customs and the carrier.
  • Will also perform other duties which might include housekeeping-cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, picking up and taking out the trash, etc.
  • May be designated, according to the work volume to assist in other areas within the department when assigned or needed.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Written/Verbal communication
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Requires use of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Able to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Utilize hand scanners.

Education/Experience

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year of related job experience
