About the Role
Role Purpose
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical part in helping RS meet its health, safety, and environmental obligations and sustainability goals. The EHS Coordinator will support site safety teams, be a shared business partner, integrated within the facility, to provide on-site support.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reconciliation of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) data to support accurate performance reporting and KPI tracking.
- Conduct routine safety observations, inspections, and assessments, documenting findings and ensuring timely follow-up on corrective actions.
- Educate and coach employees on safety standards, expectations, and best practices to promote a strong safety culture.
- Provide risk-based recommendation
- s and support implementation of solutions to improve workplace safety and reduce operational hazards.
- Assist cross-functional teams in incident investigations, including root-cause analysis, trending, and development and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and update documentation related to EHS programs, procedures, policies, permits, communications, and compliance records.
- Assist with facilitating New Hire Safety Training and ongoing EHS training initiatives to ensure employee readiness and compliance.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, preparedness activities, and spill prevention initiatives.
- Participate in EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, assess compliance, and recommend mitigation strategies.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- OSHA 30 hours
- ASP, preferred
- Safety or Environmental Compliance including Chemical or Waste Management
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and EHS software
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Genuine interest and ability to learn and understand technical information, with a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a desire to communicate, support and help others.
- Working knowledge of incident investigation techniques, safety standards and environmental regulations (preferred) and the ability to apply them effectively in daily operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
