What You Will Do
As part of an agile/scrum team, you will work with your colleagues to build, deploy and support one of our digital applications. Our database software engineers will need to be able to analyze the data needs of the organization and produce effective database systems according to their specifications. Because we are a DevOps organization, our developers are responsible for their applications from concept all the way through to production.

What You Will Need to Know

  • Development of high-quality database solutions
  • Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
  • Knowledge of Parameterized Queries
  • Knowledge of SQL Server 2017
  • Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
  • Research required data
  • Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
  • Suggest new queries
  • Support ad-hoc data requests
  • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
  • Investigate and help resolve data issues.
  • Experience working with SSIS
  • Good understanding of how to identify and diagnose performance issues and resolve them quickly
  • How to build efficient, secure, scalable, and reliable applications to support a high transaction environment
  • How to code using OWASP security best practices
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles including automated testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and fast feedback loops is a big plus
  • Experience designing and building NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud environments like AWS is a plus.
  • Experience creating AWS Cloud Native databases/applications (i.e. Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles and how to apply them is a plus
  • Experience working in a team-based IDE with a shared code repository and version control
  • Good understanding of JSON and basic knowledge of XML
     

What You Need to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Ecommerce, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience as a SQL Developer or similar role
  • Comfortable presenting to small groups
  • Ready and willing to speak out and add your opinion to our approach, architecture and processes based on quality research and experience
  • Great at working as part of a self-directed team, working seamlessly with your co-workers to deliver and incredible amount of high-quality work
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum.
  • Must be able to work with autonomy
