We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager who will deliver a promotional product that supports our annual defined ‘growth’ product categories, combined with the execution of a comprehensive supplier marketing activity programme which has the potential to deliver funding contribution against an annual defined funding target.

 

Why?...Within our markets there is a core requirement to activate product promotional activity to drive trading and support our category growth strategy.

We also have an opportunity to engage locally significant product manufacturers and suppliers and agree supplier funded marketing activity.

 

Our goal… (and that of this role), is to deliver a programme of relevant, impactful product promotional activities that support the growth of our locally defined strategic growth categories, create a marketing touch rhythm with marketing owned accounts (Standard and Key non-portfolio, and maximise our opportunity to cost-effectively secure supplier funding contributions. UK&I marketing, UK&I P&SM, EMEA Supplier Marketing and EMEA/Group category teams have a part to play in achieving this goal.

 

You will lead the following…

  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager to develop, deploy and execute a promotional marketing and supplier marketing plan and budget
  • Own the schedule and delivery of supplier marketing activities E2E
  • Work closely with the UK&I P&SM team to secure funding from suppliers and manufacturers against a jointly P&SM and Marketing owned annual target of circa £1.5m
  • Act as the local marketing product and brand subject matter expert, while working closely with suppliers to execute product marketing activities
  • Work with both local and EMEA channel owners to execute product marketing activities
  • Where required, provide product subject matter expertise into our sector and industry campaigns executed via the campaign team
  • Provide oversight of the progress of the supplier marketing plan with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with both the local marketing analyst and other resources to provide reporting for supplier marketing activity
  • Actively liaise with manufacturers and supplier contacts as key stakeholders, in the delivery of this marketing activity

What you will do…

  • Develop, deploy and execute a promotional category marketing and supplier marketing plan
  • Own the schedule and delivery of supplier marketing activities and associated RS budget
  • Manage the booking of supplier funded activities working closely with the local P&SM team
  • Develop and continual update knowledge of our product and brand offer
  • Act as the product & brand subject matter expert for any campaign which requires product insight
  • Support the development of the annual support funded activity rate card
  • Where required, develop promotional copy for activities
  • Where required, have sufficient skills to build campaigns in our CMS or email systems
  • Enrich campaign activity with product and brand knowledge and supplier insight
  • Work directly with the EMEA creative team to build assets required to support supplier marketing
  • When required, work with 3rd parties and EMEA/Local channel owners to execute product and supplier focused activities
  • Manage relationships with key local/group/EMEA functions such as the P&SM team, EMEA marketing, EMEA supplier marketing, suppliers, email and CMS team

What we are looking for from you…

  • Worked in a multi-national matrix organisation marketing community
  • Hands on digital experience
  • Broad marketing experience across Social, Comms, PR, Product and Content Marketing and commercial program management
  • Retail experience in B2B
  • Ability to develop brand and commercial programs and communicate recommendations
  • Experience of executing integrated multi-channel marketing programs combining both products and services
  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective commercial programs
  • Understanding of the full marketing mix but likely to lead specific areas
  • Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind
  • Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers
  • Commercial proficiency
  • Cross functional team leadership
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practice
