Principal Product Owner - Customer Data Master
Location: Hybrid (London or Corby)

RS Group is looking for an experienced Principal Product Owner for Customer Data Management (CDM) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute the vision and strategy for our global CDM platform, supporting both business and customer experience (CX) strategies. You will lead the development, adoption, and execution of Informatica’s Customer 360 platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data and connectivity needs across our omnichannel platforms are met. As a domain expert in CDM, your deep knowledge of data management will play a crucial role in delivering our customer experience goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for the Customer Master Database, aligning it with business objectives. This includes creating a blueprint and playbook to guide future data integrations following acquisitions.
  • CDM Platform Execution: Deliver the vision for the CDM platform and integrate it with other data initiatives, enabling real-time customer insights and supporting the omnichannel customer experience.
  • Data Quality Management: Collaborate with the GD&A team, local data stewards, and other stakeholders to drive improvements in customer data quality through process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Requirements Gathering: Partner with global stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring the platform meets the needs of various business units.
  • Team Leadership: Matrix-manage a multidisciplinary team of developers, analysts, and data experts to ensure successful delivery of the Customer Master Database.
  • Stakeholder and Collaboration Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, chairing cross-functional user groups to gather feedback for future developments.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure the platform adheres to data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and maintain robust security protocols to protect customer information.
  • Process Development & Continuous Improvement: Design and continuously refine the end-to-end customer data management processes to enhance usability, functionality, and data quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee rigorous testing and validation to ensure the quality and integrity of the Customer Master Database.
  • Scrum Master Responsibilities: Act as Scrum Master, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
     

About You:

As the Principal Product Owner for CDM, you will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of our Customer Data Management strategy. You’ll work closely with global teams, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment with business goals.
 

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience delivering customer omnichannel platforms and data management strategies for global organizations.
  • Deep understanding of database technologies, data modeling, and best practices in data management.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and successfully deliver global data projects.
  • Expertise in data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and experience implementing security measures for customer data platforms.
  • Extensive experience with Informatica C360 products and professional services teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and proven project delivery track record.
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors, such as Informatica, Salesforce, Moody's, Dunn & Bradstreet, and Adobe.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in product ownership or management, particularly in large-scale data platforms.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Trello).
  • Experience in Agile environments, preferably as a Scrum Master.
  • Certifications in Agile or Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) are a plus.
