Monday to Friday only (evening & weekend overtime available)

 

Shift Rota:

Week 1: 06:30 – 14:00
Week 2: 14:00 – 09:30

 

RS Group is looking for a technician/engineer to join our fantastic warehouse team at the distribution centre in Corby.

We know that sometimes things go wrong, so we must have the best people onboard when they do. If you love fixing things and making amazing happen then this is absolutely the job for you.

 

What will you be doing?

 

You will be responsible for fixing and maintaining the manual handling equipment in the distribution centre including cranes and forklifts. It will be down to you to quickly respond to incidents, and make repairs and adjustments to ensure maximum uptime and equipment is safe to operate.

 

Part of this role will be coaching, training and mentoring other members of the team and managing contractors, suppliers and internal resources. All the while you will ensure that all work adheres to Health & Safety guidelines.

Finally, your knowledge and experience will shine through as you recommend new initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.

 

What do you need to be successful?

 

You must have a recognised trade apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of manual handling equipment.

 

Other essential requirements for the role are:

 

  • Electrical and/or Control experience (ideally in a logistics or manufacturing environment).
  • Experience in fault-finding, repair, basic electronics conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Hands-on technical experience.
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment under time constraints.
  • Good problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • The ability to work at height.

You will also need to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and build relationships.
