This is an extremely exciting and new opportunity to join the Cyber/Information Security Team as a Information Security Apprentice. Over the course of 4 years, you will get to experience what goes into supporting this team and how you can keep our business safe.

Our purpose is to manage and improve our Information Security risk position, supporting the digital transformation of the organisation.

This opportunity comes at an exciting time for Information Security – we are growing our talented and creative team. This is a hybrid role based from home and from the offices in Pancras Square, London, and Corby, Northamptonshire. We sit within the Group Professional Services team, which also includes our Legal and Procurement teams.

You will start by completing the Cyber Security Technologist Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard found here:

Cyber security technologist (2021) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

This first stage will take 15 months and will set you up to progress onto the Cyber Security Technical Professional Level 6 Apprenticeship Standard found here:

Cyber security technical professional (integrated degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

This is a Bachelors degree level and will set you up for a career in Cyber/Information Security

Main Duties:

  • Providing support to the Chief Information Security Officer and the rest of the Information Security team to enable the development and maturation of our Information Security function
  • Helping to define, produce and deliver information security awareness interventions that educate the wider organisation on key security risks and best practices
  • Researching information security awareness techniques and best practices, providing findings that feed into our awareness strategy
  • Managing our reporting and governance processes, helping to ensure that senior leaders have an up-to-date view of risk and operational performance
  • Supporting the identification and management of information security vulnerabilities, ensuring they are processed in accordance with the latest Information Security Risk Management process
  • Researching and actively exploring proactive information security tools and techniques
  • Reviewing documentation from a security standpoint including architecture, design and commercial outputs
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and remediate risks as required
  • Performing risk assessments to evaluate whether third party suppliers, projects and operational activities are in line with security best practices
  • Supporting the wider team of Information Security specialists with project reviews, third party reviews, policy management and operational security processes
  • Producing high quality written documentation to support the wider team of Information Security specialists
  • Organising stakeholder engagement sessions and managing interactions with the team
  • Identifying and documenting security requirements

We are offering a £18k salary, Mon-Fri working week, 22 days paid holiday and access to Private Medical & Pension benefits. On top of this you will receive the apprenticeship training at no cost to yourself and gain vital experience on the first step of your career with us.

We’re looking for someone who is willing to learn, who can solve problems, is self-motivated and has a real passion for Cyber/information security and risk.

  • Can NOT already have a Cyber Security Degree
  • Grades A*- C or grade 4-9 (or equivalent in GCSE English & Maths)
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • Willing to travel to both Corby & St Pancras
  • Good team player and clear communicator
  • Keen interest in learning
  • Willingness to take guidance
