Digital Technical Specialist (Technical PO search)
Location: Remote (UK)
RS Group is seeking a Digital Technical Specialist (Technical PO search) to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in Digital Technologies, specifically Search, working cross-functionally to drive innovation and accelerate new capabilities. You will be responsible for solution design, data architecture, and software development, delivering rapid proof of concepts to assess feasibility before full-scale implementation. Additionally, you will explore tactical solutions for adopting and integrating new digital features, ensuring seamless transitions while long-term strategies are developed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and prioritize technical components (security, data architecture, and development tools) in collaboration with product owners to build a robust product roadmap and reduce technical debt.
- Act as the lead subject matter expert for Search Engine requirements, enhancing user experience and search performance.
- Take ownership of the search ETL process and Search Engine preferably with GroupBy , ensuring the system aligns with both legacy systems and future Adobe e-commerce transformation.
- Manage the backlog for the back-end search team, coordinating cross-functional demand efficiently.
- Act as a technical bridge between business and technical stakeholders, collaborating with engineers to deliver technical requirements swiftly.
- Support with the design and implementation of data integration tools in collaboration with our Principal Engineers, Architects and Engineering managers, to support the migration of digital capabilities to the new strategic platform.
- Conduct in-depth analysis on search performance and other digital solutions to optimize business outcomes.
- Foster strong working relationships with product management, engineering, architecture, and other digital stakeholders to enhance solutions and capabilities.
- Drive the agile delivery of digital capabilities by designing and executing proof of concepts.
- Serve as GroupBy support owner, defining SLAs with vendors, ensuring structured resourcing, and preventing recurring technical issues.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and product owners to maintain continuity and efficiency in search capabilities.

You should possess a deep understanding of e-commerce technologies and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, all while mentoring and upskilling those around you.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and engage senior management effectively.
- Agility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies, systems, and tools.
- Logical thinker with a structured problem-solving approach.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate and understand existing software without comprehensive documentation
- Experience with a broad range of technologies, with a passion for either Data or Solution Architecture
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XML Web Services and database design
- Experience with data integration, APIs, and database technologies
- Software engineering background
- Business analysis experience
