The Financial Accounting team’s primary responsibilities include month-end Group reporting. The team are also responsible for ensuring that all external audits run smoothly and on time. Further responsibilities include ensuring statutory financial statements and associated Corporation Tax returns are filed on a timely basis for a number of European markets.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a motivated individual with some experience in financial accounting, either AAT or finance related degree qualified, who is looking to apply their financial accounting skills to support a number of month-end reporting processes, and develop their business knowledge of areas like Tax, Treasury and Audit.
What you will be doing:
Fixed assets:
- Coordinate and manage fixed assets in SAP for all EMEA entities, ensuring the fixed asset register is accurate.
- Perform month-end depreciation runs and reconciliations, and handle year-end fiscal openings and closures for EMEA.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of asset registers with the relevant teams.
Group Accounting:
- Maintain fixed assets register and depreciation within the Group entity.
- Review and post the treasury prepayments journals.
- Review and post the treasury bank statement and reconciliation.
- Support the Financial Accountant with the preparation and review of the Group costs each month.
- Adhere to month end deadlines to produce balance sheet analysis and cost information on a timely and accurate basis.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and review with those responsible.
KCC (Key Controls Checklist);
- Assist with coordinating responses for EMEA entities for the quarterly KCC questionnaire
Tax support:
- VAT – support with the run of all VAT reports and processes.
- Ensure training of other team members is kept up to date.
Bank Administration:
- Set up and maintain user information in online banking systems, ensuring controls are in place for new users and leavers.
- Build and maintain relationships with bank contacts, provide training for approvers, and conduct quarterly reviews of user login status.
Other:
- Audit – Liaise with External and Internal Auditors to provide relevant documentation when needed.
- Provide resource to support other parts of the Business when needed.
- Assist with Office for National statistics surveys.
What we are looking for from you:
- Experience of an ERP system e.g. SAP FICO or similar
- Accounting Qualification to AAT as a minimum or graduate level
- Positive Outlook: looks to the future for opportunity, constantly challenges the status quo and drives for high performance
- Personable, enthusiastic, team oriented
- Good communicator who is able to build strong relationships in a matrix structure
