About the Role

Role Purpose

The Senior Manager of Supply and Demand Planning is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain planning processes to ensure alignment with business goals. This role leads a team of Managers, who each supervise their own teams of supply planners and demand planners, while maintaining significant autonomy in making strategic decisions regarding Supply Chain Planning. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain, the Senior Manager is accountable for managing over $500M of annual investment and over $200M of inventory value, ensuring that planning decisions drive operational efficiency and have a positive impact on the company’s financial performance. This hybrid role is based in Fort Worth, TX, offering a flexible mix of in-office and remote work. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain management principles.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Directly manage a team of Managers overseeing supply planners and demand planners.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure teams meet organizational objectives.
    • Foster collaboration across teams to ensure alignment on supply chain goals and strategies.
  2. Financial Accountability:
    • Manage planning processes related to over $500M of annual investment and $200M of inventory value.
    • Evaluate and implement strategies that optimize financial outcomes and mitigate risks associated with supply chain decisions.
    • Monitor the financial impact of inventory levels, production schedules, and demand forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  3. Autonomous Decision-Making:
    • Exercise a high level of autonomy in developing and executing supply chain planning strategies for Supply Planning and Demand Planning.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and proactively implement innovative solutions to address supply chain challenges.
  4. Integrated Supply and Demand Planning:
    • Oversee the development of demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and customer insights, while ensuring supply plans align with these forecasts to maintain optimal inventory levels and stock availability.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and suppliers to achieve efficient, data-driven planning that supports business priorities and meets demand requirements.
  5. S&OP Process:
    • Play a key role in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to harmonize supply and demand planning across the organization in partnership with the company’s commercial functions.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review forecasts, inventory levels, and production plans.
  6. Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain efficiency, forecast accuracy, and inventory turnover.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance.
  7. Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to long-term supply chain strategy, including risk management and process optimization.
    • Align department objectives with overall company goals to support growth and profitability.

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field OR 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with experience in a managerial role overseeing multiple teams.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

 

Preferred Certifications:

  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
