Inside National Account Manager (INAM)
Job Description
- Meet and/or exceed sales, profit and other key sales metrics establish by the business and sales leadership team
- Pro-active account management and sales activities building relationships throughout our customers organization
- Engage in phone based and virtual video conference sales activities cantered on value and solution based selling philosophies for RS’ products and services
- Communicate and deliver powerful and relevant value propositions for each customer persona and market segment
- Build internal and external customer relationships, identify needs and provide product, technical and value added solutions
- Work with the National Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Inside Key Account Managers (Branches) and various RS support managers to provide a great customer experience
- Ability to identify opportunities that will require additional negotiations i.e., registrations/ special pricing agreements (SPA’s) and keep those agreements current
- Work with and build strong relationships with key supplier partner representatives including their sales, support and technical team members
- Effectively utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to record sales activities, identify and log potential sales opportunities and provide key information as needed
- Participate in development programs to achieve expert knowledge level for products, services, sales processes and digital systems
- Create an environment that aligns with RS’ values and promotes a positive environment in the workplace
- Effectively utilize and understand our corporate accounts digital requirements along with their process and compliance needs.

About the role
The Inside National Account Manager (INAM) is a member of the highly visible, growth- oriented National Accounts team handling high profile complex corporate customers. The INAM’s role core responsibility is to support growth by providing exception service, proactive solution sales strategies and developing deep-rooted relationships within an assigned corporate account base. The ideal candidate is a performance-driven individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
This position is responsible for the following:
Business Partnering
- Single point of inside sales contact for multi-location corporate customers for orders, quotes and conflict resolution
- Develop a deep understanding of the customers ecosystem, vertical market focus and main competition
- Knowledge of RS competition to support opportunities to gain share through the RS Value Proposition
- Understanding of the omni-channel go to market strategy and support customers capabilities and limitations
- Ability to effectively utilize and learn national accounts digital requirements as well as their process and compliance needs
Collaboration
- Partner with National Account Managers, on joint accounts, to develop growth-oriented business plans to generate revenue with that customer
- Confidence in working with the Key Account Managers (KAM) in building and a business plan for accounts that may or may not be assigned to a National Account Manager
- Network the organization internally to know the proper channels and contacts to effectively and efficiently provide outstanding internal and external customer experiences
Reporting & Analysis
- Quantitative; ability to use reporting tools to analyze customer trends and areas for opportunity
- Quantitative; aptitude to use judgement through customer probing and observation
