About the Role

Role Purpose

As a Project Manager, you will oversee and manage multi-functional projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The role will work across all business functions and will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. You will effectively collaborate through many people across the organization to succeed.

Integral role as part of the Global Delivery Team, with regular interaction with their wider Management teams across the whole Business, Subject Matter Experts across all business functions, particularly Technical, Digital, Finance & Business Operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Ensure realistic project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and control allocated human and material resources, associated revenue costs, and all capital costs against the project budget. Ensure a change control procedure is in place and actively used.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead one or more project teams, allocating and monitoring tasks, motivating staff, and supporting individual performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the liaison between the customer and supplier organizations, enabling effective and efficient communication. Manage internal and external stakeholders as necessary on all project phases.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the and implement solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects.
  • Project Closure: Ensure projects are formally closed and reviewed, capturing lessons learned and taking appropriate action.
  • Technical Evaluation: Evaluate and make recommendations/decisions on technical options in line with organizational strategies.
  • Governance: Work within the defined organizational governance framework, possibly under the oversight of a project management office.
  • Travel: Travel including overnight stays, may be required to support site migrations and attend meetings.

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • 3-5 years proven experience in managing projects, specifically 3rd party, public-facing projects, and enterprise-grade project implementations across multiple locations.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., APM PMP, PgMP) are expected.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a complex project environment for a Global organization
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Certified Project Management and/or Change Management qualifications
  • Experience of negotiating with and managing 3rd parties

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of software-defined network rollouts.
  • Project Management: Good grounding in traditional project management governance practices and a good understanding of agile ways of working and sprint management. Experience managing large projects and multiple, concurrent IT projects.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to inspire and influence teams and senior executives alike.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, assign and manage work activities, meet deadlines, and develop project management reporting in a timely and effective manner.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills. Ability to use tools like Jira, Confluence, Keyedin, Teams, etc.
  • Problem-Solving: Good problem-solving skills, seeing the bigger picture and getting things done in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Passion for Technology: Passionate about technology with the ability to translate solutions so they are easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. High level of professionalism, energy and passion, with a sense of urgency to "make things happen".
