Senior Experimentation Analyst

Location: Hybrid/Remote

About the Role:

At RS Group, we are on a mission to ‘Make Amazing Happen’ for our customers. To do that, we know that we cannot rely on intuition alone, and that data must lead the way.

Experimentation is fast becoming the methodology we use to make amazing happen, and as Senior Experimentation Analyst, you will drive the standards for experimentation analysis at RS Components. You will play a leading role in defining our patterns, practices, and processes for driving accurate and trustworthy business outcomes through experiments.

Operating from our group wide Centre of Excellence, you will be the trusted subject matter expert on experimentation analysis, supporting our business in its efforts to scale experimentation, and make intelligent decisions based on data-evidenced outcomes. Your role is one of doing, but also educating and empowering, where success is not derived solely from the outcomes you drive yourself, but the outcomes you enable others to realise.

You will own the end-to-end analysis and aggregation of data of our global experimentation efforts, working cross-functionally across the organisation to drive evolving maturity in the way we think about, measure and report on individual experiments, and demonstrating how these impact key business metrics.

Collaborating across the business with data & software engineers, data scientists, developers, and specialists, you’ll ensure we have the right, metrics processes, tools, and technologies to provide accurate and actionable experiment outcomes across our global business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in growing their own personal and professional skills in a well-reputed, forward-thinking, and dedicated experimentation function within a global business on a lightning-fast growth curve.

Key Deliverables for my role

In this role, you’ll:

  • Set the standards for programme performance benchmarking, monitoring of our global experimentation platform and execution of regular A/A tests to ensure high levels of data quality in our continually evolving digital estate.
  • Tell stories through data – breaking down complex problems and turning them into actionable insights, using an array of data visualisation techniques.
  • Define and maintain our macro/micro experiment metrics & goal trees, ensuring that experiments are run with well understood primary, secondary, and business aligned metrics.
  • Mentor associate and mid-level experimentation analysts, acting as their first port of call for triaging experiment analyses and helping them to develop and grow in their own careers.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across our digital experience teams to identify global business opportunities, where experimentation can accelerate our speed to value realisation.
  • Identify blockers in our ability to scale, and take a leading role in implementing new processes, tools, technologies, or capabilities to drive programme velocity.
  • Be accountable for the end-to-end analysis and reporting of global combined experiment outcomes, demonstrating ROI, operational efficiencies, and profit protection.
  • Act as an ambassador for experimentation across the global organisation, evangelising for its uses, educating others on the benefits of the methodology, and changing hearts and minds to become more data driven.
  • Report on key individual experiment outcomes, learnings, opportunities, and programme performance across the business, up to c-suite level.
  • Drive continuous improvement in experimentation & digital data.
  • Educate and enable individual product teams to better understand their experiment results, hosting training & deep dive sessions to increase organisation-wide experimentation maturity.

Key opportunities for growth in this role:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and grow your data analysis skills in a FTSE100 company with big growth ambitions, with a view to longer term, moving towards either a Principal Experimentation Analyst role, or Experimentation Manager role, depending on whether the individual wishes to build deep specialisms, or move more into people management, strategy, and vision
