The hours for this role include: Friday 6am - 6pm, Saturday 6am - 6pm and Sunday 6am - 6pm. A total of 36 hours per week. 

 

As an RS Maintenance Technician you will be providing a preventative, reactive and continuous improvement (projects) maintenance service for our handling equipment.

This role requires a Technician who is very strong electrically, and will act as one of the shifts electrical “Go To” Person’s. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be a part of an organisation that promotes personal development, growth, and career progression and who will provide you with the tools and training you need to excel in the industry. What You Will Do

 

Within this position you will primarily be responsible for responding to calls of equipment failure; prioritising tasks to maximise the use of available resource.

You will complete routine breakdown support, planned maintenance and servicing on all our Conveyors, Sortation equipment and Automated Storage Crane equipment to maximise availability. Liaising and communicating daily with the Shift Supervisor and/or Manager to ensure activities are correctly aligned and passed over for operational needs. You will ensure the working environment and workshops are in a safe and tidy condition with a high level of housekeeping and ensure you work compliant with company H&S rules and statutory H&S regulations.

 

 

What Will You Bring To the Role

 

  • A recognised Maintenance Qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above) or Apprenticeship or equivalent Maintenance experience. 
  • Experience with a variety of conveyor and MHE equipment, electro-mechanical systems and detection equipment.
  • Knowledge of belt and chain type conveyors, Sortation systems, Auto Storage and Retrieval & Pallet Cranes would be advantageous, as well as familiarisation with Interbus and SCADA screens/systems.
  • Able to demonstrate suitable experience to work safely around 400V circuits. Electrical qualifications to fault find on Electrical equipment would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Risk activities, assessing and auditing tasks for safe working adherence.
  • An understanding of legal compliance in a maintenance environment including COSHH & PUWER.
  • General PC skills using Microsoft office packages
  • Good general health with no restrictions on mobility
  • Experience of successfully working alone using own initiative and making decisions, as well as working as a team member.
  • Flexibility of Hours to achieve tasks within deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work nightshift and reasonable overtime.
  • Able to interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC drawings and schematics
