Maintenance Manager

We are excited to be hiring for the role of Maintenance Manager to join our team at our Nuneaton site. You will provide Strong Management, guidance, support, communication and leadership to our Maintenance Supervisors and their teams as well as maintaining and reacting to the departments KPI’s.

 

This will be an office based role with the ability to work from home on occasions.

 

What you will do to be successful in this role

 

  • Working closely with the Facilities Manager to implement the forward vision and Innovation into the department and facilities.
  • Co-ordinate the Facilities shift teams to maintain and improve equipment availability and to deliver the site’s customer service objectives
  • Agree, assign, support and progress Maintenance “project work”.
  • To apply Root Cause Analysis to equipment failures and propose/put in place follow-up actions to eliminate further repetition.
  • Deliver effective resource planning through review of workloads and assignment to either internal or external resources. Measure and report on its effectiveness via the departmental KPI’s
  • Ensuring Health & Safety Documentation is up to date, relevant and implemented. This shall include the review of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and workplace procedures.
  • Audit workplace activities. Assessing the need for and Authorising ‘Permits to Work’ for high-risk activity undertaken by either internal or external resource.
  • Co-ordinate MHE contractors on site. Coordinate stakeholders to ensure all criteria are met for them to attend site (RAMS, training documentation etc.), oversee their work to ensure it complies with company standards of H&S and quality of workmanship.
  • Carry out effective 1-2-1’s with your Supervisors to ensure every team member is assessed both in terms of Technical competencies and personal effectiveness.
  • Oversee the training requirements for the teams to ensure technical knowledge is maintained and improved, coaching and encouraging direct reports to achieve their maximum potential.
  • To maintain the working environment in a safe and tidy condition.

 

What you will have to be successful in this role

 

  • Suitable experience in Managing Maintenance Teams
  • Experience of pragmatically leading multi-shift teams and behavioural coaching
  • Electrical experience in a Manufacturing environment. Able to interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC drawings and schematics
  • Experience with MHE equipment, electro-mechanical systems and detection equipment
  • Role Model first class levels of Health & Safety behaviour with experience of supervising contractors
  • Familiar with Maintenance KPI’s and budgets
  • A practical understanding and application of legal compliance in a maintenance environment including COSHH & PUWER.
  • Experience of successfully working alone using own initiative and making decisions, as well as working as a team member.
  • Ability and willingness to control own working hours to achieve business and department needs.
  • Strong PC skills using Microsoft office packages
  • Good general health with no restrictions on mobility
  • Flexibility of Hours to achieve tasks within deadlines
  • Great interpersonal/communication (oral/written/presentation) skills
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing authorities would be a great advantage.
