Senior Insight Analyst

Job Description

  • Carry out in-depth analysis both proactively and at the request of the marketing & digital teams
  • Support sizing and prioritizing of marketing initiatives from a cost/benefit perspective
  • Develop & drive adoption of measurement frameworks for digital activities
  • Report back on financial and other business critical results of activities to the leadership team
  • Be the “voice of the data” within the team, challenging and interrogating assumptions to ensure that we do not miss the best opportunities and identifying where results are falling short of targets
  • Help drive data governance within the organization, identifying, flagging, and working to correct issues which affect our tools and data
  • Lead and contribute to company projects and initiatives with limited supervision
  • Promote data literacy within the organization and function as a steward for data sources
  • Lead development efforts to create data solutions for the business. Identify data gaps or partner with stakeholders to scope requests, establish process documentation, extract transform and load (ETL) data, generate models to uncover actionable insights, effectively communicate findings back to the business through visualization or data stories, and deliver data driven recommendations to improve effectiveness and performance

About the role

Allied is looking for an analyst to help us identify and take advantage of opportunities to accelerate revenue, profit and customer growth through our online & offline marketing activities. This role will explore our wealth of data to uncover actionable opportunities, and then work closely with colleagues across the marketing & digital teams to help us leverage those opportunities.

This role brings an opportunity to work with a suite of industry-leading BI & AI tools, including Power BI, Google Analytics and SAP Business Objects. Candidates will need to be passionately data-driven and able to get hands on with tools and data but will also have the ability to translate data into actionable insight, support the marketing & digital teams in interpreting analysis, and help develop the resulting action plans. You will need to be a confident collaborator as well as an expert insight finder!

What we’re looking for


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related subject
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an analytics role with an emphasis on marketing is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of web analytics tools: e.g., Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with Python or R programming languages
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning models
  • Hands-on experience working with SAP Business Objects, and ideally data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of the key financial & commercial metrics and drivers within a business and why these are important
  • Understanding of key metrics used in digital and traditional marketing and how these contribute to the success of the overall business
  • Self-starter with a passion for continued learning and development
  • Good time management skills


  • Experience with ETL solutions: SQL Server Integration Services, Alteryx, Talend, or a similar tool is a plus
  • Experience with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) is a plus
  • Experience with Domo, Tableau, or a similar tool is a plus
