Product Customer Service Representative

Job Description

  • Quick and accurate response to RFQ’s for “non-standard” product. 
  • Material number creation for sales requests which are high priority and should be done accurately as to not impede the sales or purchasing process.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts

About the role

Allied sells millions of different SKU’s, among 500+ manufacturers.  Not all parts/SKU’s are built into the Allied ERP system.  In fact, 10’s of millions of them are not.  When this is the case, or the Manufacturer has requested the sales dept not reach out directly, we process the request for quote, and return to one of our 400+ Sales/CSR reps (our internal customers) globally.  In doing so we’re to maintain working knowledge of how to do this properly, among all 500+ of our vendors.  Adhering to vendor guidelines regarding these types of requests so that we can quote quickly, and correctly.  Which is an important aspect of closing sales.  Another responsibility of this role is to build part information into Allied’s ERP system and be sure this is done properly as to not create any issues in the future for the purchasing or sales process if this was done improperly. We also assist sales if they are unsure where to direct a question regarding a part or issue.  Along the way there are issues which may arise which identify room for improvement in processes.  From there we take an active role to see these are addressed.  Then assist creating new process/standards as to enhance our service within the org.

 

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to efficiently and professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experienced in working with colleagues across various functions to meet unique needs of internal and external clients
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to personally make and own informed decisions
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, prioritizing accuracy over speed
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, speed, and professionalism with a dynamic workload and aggressive service level agreements with internal clients
  • Ability to organize and quickly access multiple tools, including notes, files, web-based repositories, and technology-based tools
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Access, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable:

  • Preferred college education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tool
  • Basic proficiency in SAP
