Pricing Analyst, RS Pro - Americas

Job Description

  • Ongoing end-to end-price benchmarking, analysis and new price upload for specific groups of products / vendors, focused on continuous margin improvement.
  • Analyse competitive landscape and set resale column prices in line with RS Pro’s comparative and value proposition
  • Continuous analysis of successes and failures with associated strategy and tactic adjustments
  • Build relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders (Product Management, Supply Chain, Sales, etc)
  • Data support for Supply Chain and Product Management activity (business review meetings, product lifecycle analytics, ad-hoc and one-off requests)
  • Drive business process improvements and strategy in managing and analysing margin
  • Accurately review and process vendor cost files.  Transform cost updates and tariff related cost changes into accurate and useful cost upload files.  Update material costs and adjust Resale Pricing in kind to maintain Resale margins in system.
  • Provide insight into financial impact to the business.
  • Coordination with Portfolio Team and Supply Chain to ensure data accuracy and timely execution of required actions. 
  • Implementation of continuous improvement strategies to drive efficiencies in the cost update work stream.  Optimize use of available tools to assure maximum cost update process effectiveness.
  • Sustainable prioritization of workload to ensure timelines are met.
  • Continuous improvement in communications between Pricing and other touchpoint functions / departments (Quotes, Product Management / Supply Chain, sales, etc.) 
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business code of ethics and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team.

About the role

This role is responsible for setting pricing and margin strategies, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve resale pricing and margins for RS Americas private label brand RS Pro.  This individual will use analysis and data mining as the basis of the pricing approach.  This role will also be responsible for review and implementation of cost files for the RS Pro line in our system.  This person will ensure that data is correct, review the potential impact to the business, and work hand-in-hand with the portfolio team to ensure proper information and implementation of the cost file is timely.

 

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • A minimum of 2 or more years of experience in product portfolio / pricing analysis
  • Strong understanding of price elasticity and value-based pricing concepts
  • Strong math and business background
  • Advanced analytical skills using Excel and Access
  • Strong financial and inventory management acumen
  • Historic leadership of margin-related initiatives
  • Proficient in data analysis - Able to identify necessary data corrections and adjustments in large data sets.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to balance multiple priorities inclusive of both project work and daily tasks
  • Self-motivated individual

Desirable:

  • Experience with analytical reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview)
  • Experience with Pricing software (e.g. Vendavo, Price f(x), Pricing PROs)
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
