Function
Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities includes, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing the workload; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigns, directs, and monitors the associates’ performance.
  • Oversees incoming workload activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Designs and implements work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve service within the department.
  • Motivates associates to ensure that predetermined productivity, cost, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Issues written and oral instructions 
  • Develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers at all times. 
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are consistently administered
  • Recommends modifications or innovative ideas in order to improve handling procedures.
  • May be designated, according to work volume to other departments when assigned or needed.


Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Excellent Written/Verbal communication
  • Type 25 wpm
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Familiar with WMS, ISO, ESD, Hazmat, DOT, OSHA, different carrier requirements, EEO rules and regulations.

 

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two/three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
