National Account Manager

Job Description

  • Develop a business plan with their Director of Corporate Accounts, Branch Managers, Field Sales Manager (FSM) and Key Account Manager (KAM) to provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts, reports and commentary to measure progress and adjust tactics and strategy as needed
  • Build relationships and work with the various Allied Sales personnel and functional groups to accomplish tasks and show increased growth with corporate accounts
  • Work with and build strong relationships with upper management and key supplier partner representatives including their sales, support and technical team members to provide our corporate accounts best customer experience globally. 
  • Focuses on proactive sales activities including phone, face to face, and virtual video-based sales calls utilizing value and solution based selling philosophies
  • Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other programs to plan and record sales activities, identify and log potential sales opportunities and provide key information as needed
  • Complete training and developmental programs aimed at increasing product and sales process knowledge
  • Have knowledge of all customer corporate compliances and guidelines pertaining to quality, digital, and any 3rd party portal initiatives. 
  • Ability to use reports, data and information to determine Allied’s available market at a corporate account.
  • Create an environment that aligns with our company’s values and ensure all team members understand company strategy, vision and value proposition
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business code of ethics and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Coordinate with our quality and operations department to ensure we are meeting corporate customers mandates to keep Allied as a preferred supplier
  • Ability to communicate and present to different stakeholders at an organization from the C-Suite to the site level employees.

About the role

A National Account Manager (NAM) is the leader of the highly visible, growth- oriented Corporate Accounts team handling high profile complex corporate customers. This roles core responsibility is to provide leadership and build a strategy to support to Allied’s rapidly growing corporate accounts.  These along with being a highly motivated and goal-oriented individual have helped Allied offer the ultimate customer experience and have continued to provide exceptional growth.

This position is responsible for:

Strategy & Collaboration

  • Effectively knowing how to profile a corporate account to determine Allied’s available market and key customer stakeholders to promote more growth
  • Partner with Regional Directors, Inside National Account Manager (INAM), Field Sales Manager (FSM) and Key Account Manager (KAM) to build a strategy on how to communicate and grow an account across North America or possibly globally.
  • Facilitate relationships with our strategic suppliers so they can be true partners with Allied throughout our corporate customers locations

Corporate Customer Knowledge

  • Corporate customers have very strict guidelines and compliances to be considered a preferred supplier.  This manager needs to have an understanding of these needs along with knowing Allied’s capabilities and be able to communicate these at a high level to a customer.
  • Strong understanding a Allied’s digital offering and customers 3rd part portals for quotes, orders, and open order reports

 

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field with 3 to 5 years’ experience in corporate account management.  Knowledge of corporate sales best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in planning and implementing corporate account sales strategies
  • Experience in corporate/customer relationship management
  • Experience managing and communicating corporate account strategy throughout an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to providing great customer service
  • Ability to lead an inside sale team

Desired:

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and SAP
