The Functional Analyst (CRM Salesforce) is a direct link between the Technology Team, the business analysts, the business process owners, and subject matter experts. This Functional Analyst will have a strong understanding of the CRM-Customer Relationships Management business processes (particularly Salesforce application), as well as a general understanding of SAP order to cash process and internal & external system applications. This role will assist and mentor business analysts and developers with application projects when required to ensure that system solutions meet the business requirements. This position will work within the Allied Technology team. 


The Functional Analyst role includes the following but is not limited to: 

  • Provide technical support to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to management; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results.
  • Responsible for supporting and mentoring of business analysts in one or more functional business modules. (Focused on CRM and Sales & Distribution) 
  • Accountable for configuring/supporting CRM-Salesforce application and its integration with SAP core business processes (primarily order to cash), with the ability to effectively communicate the technical design requirements to development team members.
  • Design the touch points amongst CRM-Sales Module and core SAP modules and internal and external third-party integrated systems. (SD and Integrations with FI, MM and warehouse).
  • Use established procedures to convert business requirements and functional specifications into detailed technical specifications for modifications of systems or queries. Translate functional processes and business requirements into system enhancements, analyze processes for possible future systems improvement and/or suggest alternative solutions.
  • Ensure that Salesforce technical activities (application configuration, upgrades & enhancements) maximize the use and adoption of best business practices and minimize the cost of the applications maintenance.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of all defined system specifications for changes in system and/or business requirements, or system configurations. Prepare applications documentation such as flowcharts and diagrams, to illustrate sequence of steps, programs must follow, and to describe logical operations involved. Follow the Allied systems change management process and procedure.
  • Work with Business Analyst Team to develop detailed plans for system validations (Unit testing, Integrations testing and UAT). 


Requirements:  The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position includes the following: 

  • 4 plus years of experience in a CRM-Salesforce Functional Analyst role.
  • 3 plus years of applicable business experience in an industrial distribution, manufacturing, or relevant environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent career.
  • At least one full life cycle implementation in Salesforce.  
  • Have a broad and extensive understanding of the overall CRM-Salesforce system landscape. 
  • Certified level of knowledge in CRM-Salesforce/Sales Module configuration (Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Tasks, Routes, Dashboard & Analytics). 
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of the end-to-end business processes (Order to Cash, Whole Sales & Distribution). 
  • Strong ability to diagnose application problems quickly and develop effective solutions and ability to create Functional/Technical Specifications based on end user's requirements.
  • Experience with training development for end users
  • Strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work 
  • Flexibility: able to adapt to different people and work assignments 
  • Ability to communicate openly both verbally and in writing to effectively work with varying levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal and project/time management skills 
  • Solid customer service and demonstrated team-oriented mind-set.
  • A strong focus on detail and accuracy of work and analytical skills
