Director of Tech Solutions and Development

Job Description

  • You will be well versed in the discipline of lean software development, understanding how to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, remove bottlenecks and improve flow.
  • Coaches and mentors the team on how to develop solutions efficiently and effectively, using the core principles of Scrum and DevOps
  • In addition to development, responsible for QA, deployment and post-deployment operations
  • Provides thought leadership and strategic thinking within the business on how to approach technical challenges and how to develop the necessary solution architecture to build world class capabilities and experiences across all digital channels including but not limited to web, Commerce, mobile applications, Search platforms, PIM, CMS, Customer Data Platforms
  • Responsible for creating organization with additional skills sets in digital applications to enable new areas such as mobile applications, new development skills
  • Ensures that all applications adhere to security and PCI requirements
  • Works closely with the Technology team to identify and address infrastructure needs necessary to support web and digital applications
  • Works closely with the Technology team on application integration between web applications, ERP, critical third-party applications, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing leadership team as well as other internal business partners to help set priorities for development projects and advise on resource requirements as necessary
  • Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
  • Works closely with the Digital Product team to assess requirements, establish resource needs, develop timelines and ultimately implement new features and enhancements to digital applications
  • Engages with global business partners to identify opportunities to implement best practice
  • Develops the necessary metrics to measure quality, uptime and productivity of the team
  • Responsible for overseeing digital applications uptime and support

About the role

The Director of Tech Solutions and Development will lead our efforts to build and deliver rapid improvements to our web and digital applications to meet the needs of our customers. Using Scrum and DevOps, this leader will guide, mentor and coach the team to high performance in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.

The best candidate will have deep experience with a high transaction ecommerce website, mobile applications, and other critical digital technology solutions with the technical knowledge to help the team work through complex architectural decisions to build highly available, secure and reliable solutions using best practices in web and digital application development.

This position will be key relationship manager and partner with business counterparts to help drive strategic objectives which include providing the best solutions to business needs while maintaining the integrity of the overall solution architecture for repeatable scalable outcomes. This is also integral to our focus on rapidly onboarding acquisitions to our solution architecture in assimilating them into our business with expediency.


What we’re looking for


  • B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of developing strategy, enterprise solution architecture
  • 10+ total years of experience with web application development, C#/ASP.NET/JavaScript Frameworks experience preferred
  • 5+ years of mobile applications development and platforms
  • 5+ years of Search platform experience
  • 5+ years of PIM experience
  • Experience with Customer Data Platforms
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as Adobe, Sitecore, Bloomreach, etc.
  • 10+ years of experience working with high transaction ecommerce websites
  • 6+ years of professional experience with database systems
  • Experience with a variety of DevOps tools including Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Docker, Dynatrace, Datadog, and SEQ
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Atlassian Suite of products
  • Excellent understanding of PCI compliance requirements
  • Solid understanding of web architecture and best practices
  • Expert knowledge of Microservices, event driven architecture, and Serverless computing, and how to best utilize them in an enterprise ecommerce application
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based deployment, infrastructure as code, and cloud native applications architecture. AWS experience preferred.
