Cost Analyst

Job Description

  • Accurately review and process vendor cost files.  Transform supplier cost updates and tariff related cost changes into accurate and useful cost upload files.  Update material costs and adjust Resale Pricing in kind to maintain Resale margins in legacy system.
  • Provide insight into financial impact to the business.
  • Coordination with Product and Portfolio Managers, Supply Chain and Business Process Owner to ensure data accuracy and timely execution of required actions.  Clear, consistent and organized communications and coordination with Pricing Analysts and constituents across the business.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement strategies to drive efficiencies in the cost update work stream.  Optimize use of available tools to assure maximum cost update process effectiveness.
  • Sustainable prioritization of workload to ensure timelines are met.

About the role

The Cost Analyst is responsible for the review and implementation of cost files from our suppliers into our system.  This person will ensure that data is correct, review the potential impact to the business, and work hand in hand with the product management team to ensure proper information and implementation of the cost file is timely. 

(S)he will be an integral part of ensuring Allied maintains its profitability and speed of working with suppliers.  Ensuring that information from our suppliers is quickly understood and acted upon ensures that Allied pivots quickly with changing material and other factors affecting the product cost and resale pricing.


What we’re looking for


  • Proficient in data analysis - Able to identify necessary data corrections and adjustments in large data sets. Communicate and ask necessary questions in order to assure data accuracy.  Policing of material cost accuracy.
  • Highly skilled in data extraction and manipulation.
  • Demonstrated Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated background in reorganizing data into a standard format required.
  • Demonstrated success using technology and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver process efficiency.
  • Strong focus on data quality and process rigor.
  • Strong communication skills and inquisitive nature are both a must. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Agent of change.  Unafraid to question the norm. 
  • Great attitude and motivation to both learn & develop.
  • Able to simultaneously balance multiple priorities inclusive of both project work and daily tasks.
  • Self-motivated individual who does not need to be micro-managed



  • Qlikview and / or Microsoft Access experience preferred
  • College degree strongly preferred
