Sourcing Manager

Location: This role is offered on a permanent basis and will be a hybrid role, offering a combination of being able to work remotely, at our Corby office and visiting external suppliers.

We have two exciting opportunities to join our RS Pro function. RS PRO is our own brand business with an annual revenue of £320m. RS PRO sources 80k products across more than 100 categories, serving 600k customers across 32 markets.

 

As part of the RS PRO sourcing Team, you will play a pivotal role in forging and development of relationships with key suppliers and sourcing partners alike, ensuring high product quality, ethical standards and service levels which meets our customers expectation.

 

About the role

  • Build a sourcing strategy for RS PRO products
  • Engage with internal stakeholders such as engineering and operations to ensure quality and compliance of products introduced
  • Lead supplier negotiation to create a “win-win” scenario and built long term partnerships
  • Improve overall margin of the business and work across countries and functions to achieve this
  • Support with customers & industry launches of products and services for RS PRO
  • Identify European suppliers with the competency and willingness to be developed into strategic supply partners
  • Stay current with the technology evolution of the strategic suppliers and identify the new product opportunity to expand global RS Pro offering

 

What we’re looking for

  • Knowledge of sourcing industrial products across EMEA
  • Good commercial acumen and experience in supplier management
  • Experience in managing quality and brand equity with sourcing partners
  • Experience in working in a matrix organisation and influencing key stakeholders
  • Capability to create process to manage end to end customer volume purchasing demands with suppliers
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Drive for results and innovation
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
