About the role


The Senior Business Analyst is tasked with helping the business meet its objectives and goals. To do this involves working with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization, ensuring business needs are explored, captured, analysed, and verified so that the solutions designed and delivered meet the objectives of our change initiatives. The Senior Business Analyst is an expert in business analysis. This person is viewed as a ‘go to’ person and advisor within the community.


What we are looking for

  • Being the interface between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re[1]engineering.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities
  • Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Responsible for the estimation and planning of the analysis tasks.
  • Takes responsibility for analysis tasks and ensures they are completed in a timely fashion.
  • May be required to assist senior stakeholders with business case development and rationale to ensure alignment with strategy.
  • Actively assisting the vendor selection process where applicable.
  • Drives the establishment of best practices and ensures best practice methods are employed.
  • You will have Associate BA’s joining the team will be expected to provide guidance, mentoring, coaching, and teaching others within the discipline expected to share knowledge of techniques and working practices for the benefit of others in the practice


Technical Capabilities / Skills / Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a Business Analyst role and performs at a solid level of competency in accordance with the RS BA Competency Framework.
  • BCS Accreditation in Business Analysis (not mandatory).
  • Experience and understanding of different software delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct effective requirements workshops and can adapt to apply a variety of elicitation techniques accordingly.
  • Ability to write unambiguous, verified requirements to a testable level.
  • Adept at writing quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Process modelling analysis and notation (As-is, To-be, workflows, user journeys etc.).
  • Conveys requirements using appropriate approaches to aid understanding eg. visual representations, use case diagrams, activity diagrams, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written) and can adapt according to the audience.
  • Connects with stakeholders at a level that facilitates easier collaboration.
  • Highly competent in presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Uses critical thinking to investigate options and alternatives instead of accepting the first solution given.
  • Ability to rise above low-level details to see the big picture, therefore thinks ahead and anticipates needs.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in line with project timelines.
  • Ability to gauge the pulse of the project and when necessary, go the extra mile to make things happen.
