We have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team.


This role will be virtual working.


The primary purpose of the Payroll Specialist is to provide an end-to-end excellent payroll service to the business.  To support the payroll provision for RS Group PLC in the UK in line with legal and statutory requirements and to pay employees accurately and on time. To work effectively with Finance, HR Service Centre, HR Reward and Pensions Team to support the delivery of an engaging and effective employee benefits package.


  • Support delivery of operational excellence
  • Add value to the payroll provision
  • Add value to payroll related and associated activities by continually critically reviewing and analysing processes on order to develop and maintain an innovative payroll strategy
  • Oversee day to day operational pressures and constraints to mitigate the impact on maintaining SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers and peers
  • Ensure confidentiality in relation to all aspects of payroll activities in line with the GDPR
  • Act as a role model to embed RS The Way We Work Behaviours
  • Encourage and support Payroll team engagement, staff development and appraisals
  • Always promote health & safety
  • Manage set payroll tasks within timelines



What we are looking for


  • PC literate, with proven ability in using Excel Intermediate/Advance, Word & PowerPoint to extract, manipulate and display data in a meaningful and insightful manner
  • Ability to understand, respect, interpret and communicate appropriate message/information confidently and effectively with good interpersonal skills – at all levels, with the utmost tact and diplomacy
  • Team Ethic, working in a team environment
  • Demonstrates highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
